In this video, we'll cover the basics and focus on the most common use of the N12 for properties no larger than a triplex with month-to-month leases. The N12 is a notice to end tenancy because the landlord, purchaser, or a family member wishes to take personal possession of the property or unit.

There is a small mistake in the example given for 60 days notice lining up with the end of the month, it was said if the notice is given March 15 the termination date would be end of April, however that would only be 45 days notice. In this example the termination date would have to be end of May to meet the minimum 60 days notice

I'm curious why my tenant has given me an N9 dated 15 days before the N12 termination date. I'm happy she's moving out early so I can move my stuff in, but does that mean I owe her 15 days rent?

So its me and my husband's name on the property. And my mother will be living in the tenanted property to which I am about to serve n12. So in first option what should I chose my parents or my spouse's parents as we both are on registry

I am a tenant and my landlord gave me an N-12 and when i found another place to move out, he offered me a deal with increased rent- which I refused. Now the landlord tells me that the N-12 is void and if i leave i need to sign the N-11 form?

I am incorporated and have 5 houses in Ottawa under corporation. My son came back from Toronto and needs a place to live in Ottawa for new job. Does that mean that I can't envict tenant on N12 as I listed the homes in an incorporation ? Please Advise. Does any one know this lawyer name ?
