One really cool strategy with this guy is to PAIN him up with the bloon solver. You'd think 2x cleanup would be bad, but no, solver benefits greatly from the pierce(weirdly enough, thanks to puddles.) AND you can actually slow moabs with solver now! then all you need is a sabo for ddts, and a good single target tower.

i think the bit that makes lota work with perma spike is having a placement where it can give 40% pierce and also deal with dense rounds that pspike dies on, and the extra pierce also can support other tower for these rounds. they basically deal with eachother’s weaknesses perfectly (lota sucks at single target and ddts while perma spike eats those while struggling against dense rounds that lota melts). the only issue is getting a good placement cos normally one will have bad placement to put the other in a good spot

this upgrade path has started to become one of my favorite towers to use altogether
it does a lot of useful and unique things for not a whole lot of cost, and its unique way of dealing damage is pretty fun to make use of
i usually do like to pair LotA with carpet of spikes, and sticking abyssal warrior in all sorts of different setups, and ive even tried doing 402 spam which is weirdly laggy for some reason but it did surpass my expectations and did pretty well, especially with them having so much range with xx2
love this tower a lot

Lota is a wonderful pairing with permaspike, its basically made for it. When the permaspike drops a moab down to ceramics it will instantly clean most of the ceramics. This saves alot of spikes as the permaspike doesn't use so much of its pierce. Then the permaspike is getting buffed too, which is great. It's absolutely fine to drop them both at the end.

If you add a x/5/x bomb in the mix lategame it's absolutely overkill. Striker Jones is great in a permaspike strategy but you can also replace the bomb with Quincy or Gwen set to strong to greatly damage every Moab. I've really played alot of chimps runs with this and it's absolutely busted.

Also you can have a high level Churchill on every map with the combination of lota + energizer, sht worked for me on dark castle. That's very underrated imo. Early game is tough but once Churchill gets going it's easy game.

Striker + LotA with permaspike is really funny because you set all that up and then you have some random unstable concoction with 400k pops and LotA with like 1.2m while the permaspike only deals with DDTs and the BAD and does nothing else

--> combo request for final harmonic: fusty + harmonic + glue

I use the meremonkey a lot. Mostly 205 and 402. It’s a really fun tower.

I barely play CHIMPS mode these days--mostly playing boss events. I love the top path mermonkey's synergy with **all** spike factory paths plus the fact its tier 5 allows you to place water towers on land.

Final Harmonic with Glaive Dominus feels underutilized against bosses. It detonates 10k damage at once from the paragon's shred DoT, regardless of degree, at a frequency faster than Blastapopulus burns off DoTs (Final Harmonic will need an MIB to damage Blast).

No mention of it letting you place water towers on land?

Personally, my most interesting use of this path was swapping the t5 in instead of buying say CtA when doing a Mega-Buff Quincy strat. Perma Brew + OC + Lord is already nasty, and so you can afford MIB and another cheap t5 entirely if you really just dont get more stuff for early game, which given Quincy + the weaker alch buff + a 2-3-0 engi + a Dweller/Warrior can do decent but might need more help once you get into advanced/expert stuff; this money is great because you can just spit out something like Pheonix or EDef and call it a day if early/mid is that bad on that map. Honestly the main reason i even go past 2-2-0 village is sometimes the MIB just ensures I can get to the Pbrew due to Leads like DDTs being such a problem if not prepared for accordingly, which my bum ahh could easily get lazy and mess up like that due to how simple it is to be chillin going up to the 90's once Lord is up to carry midgame and a little beyond with this setup.

Dont try this on the Puddles or other spaced multilanes ofc, this strat wants everything in an even tighter ball than the traditional version of the strat and so its range is sorely limited. Quincy is surprisingly good BAD damage here, but given the sheer annihilation of rounds like 98 this setup is almost designed to do, that extra power is better spent on single target and r100 securing kind of stuff anyway. Even on beginner/intermediates I've gone ahead and grabbed First Strike just for insurance, so dont be afraid to do so too wherever you try it. Glorm and other cheap debuffs and statuses also do well with the damage both Quincy and Lord (trident is good base pierce so uses area debuffs well anyway) both provide, go ahead.

Surprised you had to do a note on Permaspike combo, as someone who enjoys how Lord and Sporm/Carpet work I find using it for Perma rather moot due to both being more cleanup anyway, and unlike Glord or Solver once the Zomg is down your maybe dead to the spike pile being so eaten up. Mid path Spike fills in the heavy single target damage role that at least Glord and Solver could try to fill, with none of the downsides of perma's disadvantages once the single target splits into lower moabs Lord could handle solo. It just makes less sense to use it with the other cleanup type tower that innately cant do single target in a timely manner, when it works just as good if not better with other cleanups that Can do some single target, or actual dedicated single target towers. Naturally, The t4 is nice for Perma but its just a waste to get the t5 for it at that rate. Feel me?

I liked LotA then they price buffed it by like 5k. I often have to try not to use it in my runs because I prefer using a variety of strategies. I used it in my workshop black border with Archmage and an eventual tack zone to help with breaking through zomgs and it did a good job.

lota melts r98 too, on monkey meadow it beats it with bbrew (yes it is an easy map but its also a fairly cheap support tower)

Tier 5 never feels that good to me. Sometimes I buy just the tier 4 for the pierce buff though.

LoA also shouldn't buy it because you want stall with perma spike but it also slows blimps down so why are you not getting it with perma?

Why middle crosspath on flagship in the last game? Isn't bottom crosspath better?

I heavily disagree with using LoTA with overdrives, since it more like +1 pierce ~50% of the time, which is way worse than just a primary village and much more expensive. it combos much better with already high pierce towers like any path on the spike factory, since it gives up to like +10 pierce which is absolutely crazy. doesnt really achieve much other than wasting money for low pierce towers. Flat bonuses like alc buff is much better for that
