Hello. I have a boar and gilt, both over 2 years old, that are not displaying sexual behavior any time of the month. What can I do to get them to breed?

can I ask a Question?...is there a best time for inseminating or do I need to wait for the sow to continue on her heat period?

Thank you. I artificially inseminated a cow once when visiting a cattle ranch. The ranch manager jokingly asked if anyone else wanted to try it and then let me when I practically begged. No problems, did it correctly the first time. LOL

I have to give you my thanks. I work with pigs and dairy cattle here in Sweden. I have thought of what a pig that not have given any birth yet is called in english. Heifer is a cow that have not given birth yet so that I know. A new word i thought here. I have experienced one false superfetation once. The sow gave birth on a sunday. I took her to the correct facility and she got 18 piglets that day. 5 days later she got 17 more. She kept the sperm in the womb and when she heated again after 5 days and got pregnant again. So she got pregnant twice within 5 days. A true superfetation is when the sow (or human for that matter) gets pregnant on the two ovulation after one and other. So the sow could give birth 3 weeks after the first litter or for humans one months after the first kid is born. You probably know what superfetation is but for those who don´t know what it is may want to know!

I see you don’t follow the counter clockwise in, clockwise out way that I see in other videos. Is this a different catheter that isn’t spiraled? Or can you elaborate?

Just curious -- since there is a boar there, why don't you just allow/encourage a natural breeding?
