IS THIS CHEATING? 6 Hook Fishing Rig + Drone Drop

We tied a special fishing rig to test out its effectiveness while beach fishing. Its a long line fishing rig with 6 long shank hooks and we plan to use our swell pro drone to drop this long line fishing rig out into the ocean to see what we catch. This seems a bit excessive but if it catches us a ton of fish, it will all be worth it. Lets see how this idea plays out!

40 years ago in Monterey CA I used 10 long shanked hooks #1 and tied red or yellow yarn on them and used to catch squid as bait for fishing that day. VERY effective since I followed the squid professional boats in my 12 foot aluminum boat & saved the big ones for bigger fish on the bottom

I did some kayak fishing from the beach in central California, Pismo beach. It was a different set of fish out there. I bought a sit on top 14 foot ocean kayak, Neckey Dolphin, used for 700 dollars. Safety first, all gear, and paid attention which way the wind is blowing. You don’t want to be blown out from shore! Your surf is more tame. The Pacific is colder and rougher where I fished. A farmer John wet suit was always worn, pfd was always on as well. But with practice and safety, it is a totally different experience, lots of fun memories.

When you drone out at a long distance, it is harder to set the hook as the line is less responsive. Seems you were using J hooks, which needed some solid hook set. Maybe you can try circle hooks with heavy sinker, such that when fish bit and swam away, the sinker will help the circle to set it. Then you "just" need to reel in.

I'm more of a single fish fisherman😊 but the ones I usually catch are fine specimens just a little wild😊 because if you've ever caught a small mouth in a small Creek Channel It's a Fight for Your Life😊

Brendan, Your drone chicken rig would work great if you first FIND a school of fish (using a drone or binoculars) then drop it right on them. So definitely potential there. Good to see you consistently trying new things.
I've done the same - like using a small electric battery powered reel for deep slow pitch jig fishing. At first people looked at me funny but at least I wasn't getting sharked as often. Now Johnny Jigs sells then and has videos of him doing the same thing 4 years later Lol!
