Beekeeping Tips For The Month Of June

Beekeeping tips for the month of June will help you know what you should be doing at this time of the beekeeping season. Beekeepers are asking me if they should requeen their bee hive, if their bees are going to swarm and should they add a honey super or a queen excluder. I'll address these questions and many more.

For more information on laying workers, watch my beekeeping video:

Green drone comb along with screen bottom boards, powdered sugar dustings, breaking the queen's brood cycle can be used as IPM methods to assist in controlling mites on honey bees. These methods are usually not enough and require the additional treatment of various chemicals.

Beekeeping classes are so important because honey bees are facing so many challenges in today's environment. Beekeepers need to know their stuff to avoid losing their hives and their investment in beekeeping. IF you are serious about beekeeping then get serious and take a look at all my ONLINE beekeeping classes:

Are you not sure if you are inspecting your hive correctly? Download my inspection guide to help you know how to perform a proper inspection, how to correctly evaluate your colony and accurately plan their future.

Hi David...
In the UK we have a Saying.... " A Swarm in" :
1) May... is Worth Hay !?!
2) June... is Worth a Silver Spoon !!! 🥳
3) July... is Worth a Fly ??
Remember Guys .... your Season may be long (Southern US) short (Canada). Here in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 UK it starts April, and ends by September. October is Feed, feed, feed time (!) And they Sleep from Nov and Wake up late Feb/ early March... 😏

Keep in mind that when he said add supers in JUNE he is in Illinois. If you are in the south the honey flow is already slowing down. We are in the 90s here in Texas Illinois is in the 70s.

Hi, David! I'm a first year beekeeper in SE Alaska. My bees got off to a really rough start due to shipping problems, but they have bounced back so well!! Thank you for all the videos. Your hive inspection "how to"s are some of the most thorough and understandable I have found.

Just wanted to say we are new to your channel. New beekeepers as at the start 2021, we lost our bees over the winter. Your videos are incredibly useful to us, really informative and really well presented. They are really helping us in knowing where we may have gone wrong and not to repeat the same mistakes. Thank you. Andrew
