I had three Beetles, a 2009 bought used in 2010, we still have it, over 289, 000 miles. My first diesel, a black sedan, it was found all by itself away fromm all the other Volkswagens, it had 22, 406 miles in August of 2018. In July of 2021 I hit stalled car on an off ramp, totaled. It's replacement was a white diesel convertable. I loved it, it was a great car. In December of 2022 I hit a coyote at 68 MPH, the intercooler was ruptured and all the debris was ingested by the engine destroying it. I love thr Beetles, I just can't seem to hang on to them. I did find a white 2014 Eos however. This is my dream car, I just hope it doesn't turn into a nightmare. Its a great car. I'm a hardcore VW owner.

Yes, VW is not selling it so much also in Europe. But here the reason is mainly the price. And, after all, I like the car, but I'm happy that they are not selling (this is my Fiat-Chrysler side that is coming out)

I has this car.. 2013 wolkswagen beetle turbo, premium packaged. This car is beautiful I got it in blue, its got sport mode, and paddle shifters. My mom got it for me as a graduation gift.. and I totaled it 2 weeks later..
I got in my car after school, it had rained the night before, and my friend has a BMW m3, and he decided it would be funny if he tail gated me. he cut me off and brake checked me. when i slammed on my brakes my car skided and i slammed into a parked car... yup im no longer friends with him. he also left the scene of the accident.

I really want this car. I'm finally getting a job, and this is the car I want. I live in Connecticut however, and what about the snow? Will the soft top cave in? The 50's edition is the one I want :D

When I see a Video from Roman, and or Nathan I get excited like a little kid getting a new TOY! And believe me I'm serious at age 50. I think I would get the 50's in Diesel, then again maybe the '70's in Turbo. Oh well, Thanks Roman!

Yep, I do actually agree: the last one looks a little bit "heavier" too. I probably like the fact that it's tail recals its Porsche heritage more than the New Beetle. And I also have to admit that I'm a little biased: even if I work for a competitor, this Beetle was designed in my home town so it's a little bit like a fellow citizen :-)

Is it just the different of the wheel in the 50s, 60s, and 70s addition?

Good on VW for making some very cool and interesting wheels for the 50's and 70's version.

I liked the cool shot of the new yellow Beetle followed by that vintage version earlier on in your review! Very informative review, as we've come to expect.
Some thoughts: the silver hubcapped-looking tire combo on that black Turbo Beetle is cool old school but it doesn't work with that model's hope of looking fast. Saw some nice car colors. Still, until VW stops making a puffy marshmellow and instead goes skinny like the People's Car, this new Beetle will remain a favorite mainly with ladies.

Roman, having watched other videos of yours reguarding the new beetle, it seems you are rather unimpressed with the car overall. Am i correct on this or is there something else? From my viewing chair, I would assume you prefer the fiat 500 and the Veloster and even the mini cooper coupe' over the new beetle.

Can you only get the Diesel with a Manual?

@Randy Seck yeah I love the 2006-2010 models of the new beetle. I have a triple white 2008 bug and 2006 convertible beetle. These models don't really catch my eyes. Although I I do like the 70's model.(blue one)

Ha. Yes I like the features in it and I love that they are trying to evolve the new beetle but it seems to have just gone the wrong way sadly. Hoping next years model doesn't take after the same style...

But if you compare this beetle to the previous one, the current is closer, in proportions, to the original one. So I think that VW (and, most of all, Giugiaro) made a good job starting from a commercial failure. Of course it's just my opinion (we are still talking about esthetics, so there is no objectivity)

I fully realize this has nothing to do with this video whatsoever, but as a fun, all around car, would you buy a 2000 Porsche Boxter, or a 2003 Audi TT?
