I have not tamed a singel Dodo since the Lystro was released! Unlike Dodos, Lystros are passive tames, completely silent and they boost xp for other tames!

Featherlites (and other glowpets) are easy tames now, spawn on gen 2 and just trap them with a tent.

I only use extraordinary kibble for taming since it works as all and basic (+ eggs) for custom recipes. I use 20 deinos and 20 featherlites for it all and always have surplus. Was never a full fan of the kilbble change, miss the old kibble peddlers lol
