The REAL Problem With Carbon Farming EXPLAINED..

Welcome back to Down On The Farm. For the channel today, we will be revealing The real dirt on carbon farming. Carbon farming or also known as soil carbon sequestration, as well as regenerative agriculture.

Simply put, carbon farming features different ways farmland is being managed in order for soils to absorb and hold higher levels of carbon. Carbon farming is an agricultural practice that aims to take carbon out of the air and then store it in soil or plant material inorder to enhance environmental and economic productivity. Watch this video as we talk about The real dirt on carbon farming.

Saying that "Regenerative agriculture is not a definitive way to capture carbon because if it is stopped, the capture process is reversed" is like saying "A balanced diet is not a definitive way to lose and maintain weight, because if I start eating only cake, I'll get fat again".

Ah for fuck sake, plant roots deposit carbon at depth, the higher the functionality of the soil, the deeper the liquid carbon pathway

Actually, the carbon storage mechanism comes in several parts. First you must understand the the basis of all Life and chemistry resulting in Life is Carbon. Absolutely all of it. Then you can define these layers of Carbon storage correctly. The obvious layer is above ground. The flora and fauna we see, interact with, and use as textile and nutrition sources. Every plant and animal alive is a living carbon battery.

The less obvious layer is the waste this flora and fauna produce. While it is waste, it is still being stored just as food for still smaller flora and fauna.

Now the least obvious layer is the flora and fauna living below the soil's surface. This layer makes up the vast bulk of Living carbon storage. The amount of biomass is exponentially more than available flora and fauna above the soil.

The final layer, the long term carbon storage medium that truly defines an ecosystem as a carbon battery, is below the microbially active top meter of soil. As more layers of waste and soil are built at the surface, the bottom of this layer dies and decays. And as long as the layers above this process continue to accumulate, this Carbon Battery remains. Charging at 99% year after year because each new layer is a small step toward higher capacity.

So it's not correct to state the capture process is reversed. The capture process is all but permanent and the very same process is what put fossil fuels deep into the Earth over millions of years. And what saturated the Canadian shale. Fossil fuel is the waste from ancient Life. Carbon based Life.

Carbon Storage is a perfect mirror too digging up and burning Fossil Fuel. That should be the most important thing you learn from the Carbon Crisis. It's not about limiting our Carbon emission anymore. We are well past that. It's about reversing the process. Carbon Farming reverses the process. And the Carbon pushed beyond a meter below the surface is all but permanently stored. Natural processes would take centuries to pull Carbon from over a meter deep back into the atmosphere.

Time is all we need to buy. So the REAL problem with Carbon Farming is that people like whoever produced this nonsense didn't google "The Rhizosphere" and don't know that fossil fuels are made up of ancient microbes, not actual dinosaurs.

For the moment carbon credit advantage only big companies/steelworks here in italy, they buy land for a crazy price, plant some trees and leave that

Its unfair telling/dictating poor and underdevelop countries to do this and that, dont do these and so forth while rich countries constinue doing the opposites..

You don't need to monitor the land, but the tax carbon input (seeds, fertilizer, gas...) and credit output in the form of produce, meat, milk....
It is easy to measure kilos of potatos x carbon credit per kg, same with beef,
There is nothing wrong with moving carbon.
