Actually, RNA is significantly more unstable than DNA. This may have been the stimulus for switching to DNA as the primary form of information storage.

The key fact I think that people need to understand is that DNA is far more stable chemically than RNA. That is the reason we have DNA as the backbone of our genetics. That doesn't mean anything Antov is saying is wrong, I just think this point needs to be pointed out.
