Ed Norton is Pete Seeger. Think the shot of Chalamet taking off his glasses in what looks to be a hospital room, while he looks at someone with curly hair, is Dylan and Guthrie.

Bob Dylan is the greatest lyricist/poet of our time. I can't wait to see this.

Casting Timothee Chalamet is gonna make Dylan a household name for the young generation. Guaranteed.

It looks like it will be an awesome movie. Living my teenage years in the 60's and 70's, a huge fan of Dylan's music and I am looking forward to this movie.

Timothée Chalamet did a lot of research hanging out in Northern Minnesota

Apparently you are unaware of Joan's song about their relationship: "Diamonds and Rust".

I saw Dylan open up for Van Morrison at the Madison Square Garden theatre about 15 or so years ago ( maybe even more ) and both were very good, a mellow concert and fun.

I grew up in MN listening to Dylan with my dad. Kudos to Timothee Chalamet for taking a big risk and (it sounds like) pulling it of. Looking forward to it and thrilled to see you Tony! Thanks for posting!

Don't Look Back was filmed during Dylan's last acoustic tour in England, April and May 1965, but the movie was not released until 1967. June of 1965 is when Dylan started working on/recording Like A Rolling Stone and was released on his album, Highway 61 Revisited, in August of that year. Bringing It All Back Home was released in March of 1965. Side 1 was electric, side 2 was acoustic. He officially went electric, to the audiences I guess you could say, was at the Newport Folk Festival in July 1965, where he first sang Maggies Farm and then Like A Rolling Stone. To placate the audience that freaked when they heard Dylan do electric for the first time, he did, It's All Over Now Baby Blue, which is on side 2 of BIABH, as his closer.

Please read the book “Positively 4th Street.” You’ll get the whole Joan/Bob story. (That’s Ed Norton as Pete Seeger)

Years ago I stayed at a friend's cabin in AK for a week without running water or Internet/phone. My friends left Bob Dylan's Bootleg Series Vol 1-3, CD 1, in the player. I listened to it daily on repeat. Some amazing songs and a good memory of mine.

Fav cover: You ain't goin' nowhere - Glen Hansard, Markéta Irglová

That guy is not woody Guthrie. First, he said "woody Guthrie and I" so it's not him. Second, it's clear from his voice Edward Norton is playing Pete Seeger

Miley did an amazing job with that cover. I don't care about her past; she's not the first musician who went through dark days. As for the movie, I'll definitely see it. James Mangold won't fail us. I loved both Walk the Line and Ford vs. Ferrari (and I don't care a thing about cars). He also did Logan, which was an awesome movie, and I'm not all that into comic book movies either. Top notch cast in A Complete Unknown, too. It's gonna be awesome.

You MUST listen to Dylan’s “Last Thoughts on Woidy Guthrie” recorded live in 1963. You MUST.

Inside Llewyn Davis would make a great double feature with the new biopic. It's fictional but captures that same Greenwich Village vibe. You definitely should check it out if you haven't seen it.

I’m going to see it in the theaters for sure!! I’m super pumped for this movie and maybe long over due, however if they do this justice, then worth the wait. Both Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan are icons, maybe different “genres”, but iconic none the less. They also had a great appreciation for each other and their duet of of the Girl from the North Country is absolutely fantastic!!

On the cover of BD's second album, Freewheelin', Bob is posed with Suze Rotolo, his then girlfriend. The trailer presents the film as a love triangle with Bob, Joan, and Suze, although word is that the girlfriend character is fictionalized for the purposes of the film. The actress you identified early in the trailer as Joan is actually the Suze-inspired character.

If you're old enough, and if you've been a Dylan fan long enough, these details are obvious, but anyone new to Dylan is in for a good story. The real Suze went on to become a successful artist, and died a few years ago.
