I grew up in the Nyayo era and those were good times...I even had the privilege of shaking his hand as a primary school kid in Nairobi way back in the early 90's when school kids would leave classes temporarily and congregate at the roadside to wave him by...the opportunity came one day when his convoy made an impromptu stop at Jogoo road and he got out and started a greeting session..I was at the right place at the right time and shook his hand..it was a big deal those days as coming near him was next to impossible due to his heavy security he R.I.P.
