Join us as we explore the vibrant Chow Kit district of Kuala Lumpur on a delicious foodie tour! We started our journey at the newly renovated Old Market, which dates back to 1955, and is set to open soon, featuring fresh produce and local delicacies. We tried the original kopi and homemade kaya toast, both bursting with flavor and authenticity. From crunchy banana fritters to savory snacks, each bite was a delightful surprise! We also ventured into the bustling wet market, where we encountered exotic fruits like rambutan and jackfruit, and learned about unique local dishes like herbal eggs. Our day was filled with mouthwatering treats and engaging stories from local vendors. After an exciting day, we returned to The Chow Kit - an Ormond Hotel, recognized as Malaysia's best boutique hotel by World Travel Awards in 2024, 2023, 2022 and 2021, where we enjoyed luxurious amenities and outstanding service. If you’re ever in KL, make sure to check out this amazing hotel and their walking or food tour—it was a fantastic way to experience the culture and cuisine of Malaysia!

I'm kind a like your approach in making your content likeable n watchable because unlike other foreign youtubers that more on touristic spot. While yours focusing on common places for local people.. where foreigners rare to aware. Something different from our perspective. Keep it up n stay safe

Greetings from Ottawa!

I follow you guys almost from day one or your early days of travel journey, I even bought you guys “coffee”

OMG, Chow Kit wet market! I used to go there with my Mum, I was a tiny wee bit boy helping my Mum with her grocery shopping. I could still smell the market, the spices, meat, fish and the hustle and bustle of the market.

Chow Kit used to be notorious for drugs and night solicitations (know what I mean)?

I moved to Canada in my twenties and completely forgotten Chow Kit and I am in my late 50’s now.
This makes me cry just thinking of my Mum!

Kopi ais is the best drink, no latte can challenge a traditional kopi. There's so much great food around chow kit and during lunch we just walkabout to our fave lunch spots

When you dip the toast into the coffee. You are already Malaysian. Welcome to Malaysia.

32:51 That's a mural of Sudirman btw, great singer and artist. He had songs about Chow Kit Road and he had a free concert there back in 1986, it was huge.

That painting/mural at minutes 32:52 is of Sudirman Hj Arshad. He's Malaysia top singer/entertainer during the 80s. He did an free open air concert in Chow Kit in 1986.

such luck to have that guy showed you around, this is honestly how we as locals eat. not the overpriced touristy areas, these places are much more better value in terms of price and the actual taste

Speaking of yummy foods in both Malaysia 🇲🇾 and Singapore 🇸🇬, you must try the PANDAN CAKE as it also goes very well with the KAYA TOAST and KOPI (coffee). In both Malaysia 🇲🇾 and Singapore 🇸🇬, there are several kinds of KOPI - KOPI A, KOPI B, KOPI C, and KOPI C KOSO.
