What is confusing??? The ex wife drugged the kids and took them while they were with the father and faked a kidnapping. To pay the ransom, the ex husband sought out an old friend to help with the money and in exchange, he did an illegal job for him-picking up the bag. The ex wife records the ex husband recounting what he had to do to get the ransom money and uses it to blackmail him for custody of the kids
