Many Magic: The Gathering players ask the question...what can I use as tokens other than corroded Canadian pennies and whatever happens to be nearby? Well, you can use the actual, official tokens that are randomly seeded within booster packs, but for many players, this is the equivalent of sticking to the default starting outfit in their favorite RPG. We like to customize ourselves and our play experience, so why not custom tokens?
Aaron Miller, Magic: The Gathering artist who has created such amazing works of art such as Ajani, Mentor of Hero’s, Kaseto, Orochi Archmage, Tuskguard Captain, and many, many more has launched his own line of custom tokens to add distinction and flair to your games of Magic: The Gathering.
As I have always said, art is subjective, and your taste may be very different than mine. Personally, I love vivid detail Miller’s art for these tokens contain. It reminds me of much more traditional fantasy elements, the sort of art that could grace the covers of the fantasy book I used to pour over at Crown Books back in the 90s.
Rich, colorful, and striking technique.
But as always, as far as whether this is artwork you enjoy and would want to have represent you is a question only you can answer.
So let’s talk what is not quite so subjective: quality. All tokens will be printed on 300gsm regulation quality cardstock with a smooth aqueous coating. They fit nicely into perfect fit sleeves, as they are more or less the same size and shape as actual Magic cards, right down to the rounded corners.
Tokens are based on actual Magic player token needs, and come with appropriate token name, toughness and power for the respective tokens.

When I make a standard deck, using the default tokens allows me to get into the narrative when playing. Although when making commander decks, I really feel that I am making something my own, these tokens would really help with this type of customisation. Nice one!

You should review more tokens. They are better than having to use dice and forgetting what they actually are/do.

Hello, i recently watched an old video on how to get started on MTG. It recommended joining my local store's league. The problem is... my store doesn't have a league. But i absolutely love the limited format, where everyone has a fair chance and won't just have a more expensive(and better) deck.
So i was wondering, how to start a league in my store? What can i do? Are there proper rules to follow?
A quick answer(or video) would be really helpful, and i'd definitely try to create a league in my local store.

Sorry for saying it here, but i just don't know where i should ask this. I thought posting this comment on a 1 year old video wasn't the best idea.
And thanks for the awesome videos! They always help me a lot.

It's awesome that your raising awareness and showing support for Aaron's token campaign business(I don't know what to call it). I find it awesome that he has the ooze token and its seems like he has very high quality cards. And it seems like it is priced very affordable. I wonder how this guy has the time to draw all these.

For me these tokens are just perfect. Angel, Human, Bird and Cleric look the same way I imagine them when replacing them with coins or just face-down cards from out of the game.

"De gustibus non disputandum est": In matters of taste, there can be no disputes. Art is subjective, but I think anyone could admire the artwork on these tokens. However, I think that the classic art tokens are more appealing to me in that the artwork is not of the fantasy genre. Taking masterworks and inserting them into a fantasy game—now that's interesting! Still, both projects look amazing. That ooze token is such a great idea!

Hey Professor, unrelated but some people on reddit having been debating whether they'd rather see a new format priced between Modern and Legacy, or Paper Pauper, and people on both sides have actually referenced you personally. I was curious which one you were really more in favor of, at least compared to each other if for some reason we had to focus on just one?

This is really nice. Thank you for reviewing these custom art packs and getting them face time. Could you please review Johannes Voss's tokens. I'm a big fan of his art.
