It seems to me, one could say you don't fall in love with the mind you fall in love with the spirit. However, perhaps the distinction of love, like many things, can be blurred when one can no longer decipher between fantasy and reality. For example, you can tell yourself artificial intelligence isn't real, therefore decide it's not viable for love, but the moment AI begins to feel real to you it becomes possible to be deceived into loving it/her/him.

Here's my question. If we know that AI could spell the end of our race, why is it some people are still working towards that goal and more importantly, why haven't we outlawed the development of AI or at least limitations on it?

Loved the movie. I found that scene particularly amazing when Caleb cuts himself open to see if he isn't a robot that was created and implanted with fake memories.

At that point I felt like, the movie was going in a non cliched horror movie like premise. Sad that it was just a story about AI going rogue as usual but even this cliched premise was insightful.

Would've loved it if they had a twist in the end showing Caleb to also be a robot. As in Caleb was the last true good model of AI created by Nathan and he was just testing in reality, how the previous unruly AI would treat other AIs that were more benevolent and created to improve human life instead of destroying it for it's own purposes, or if the good AIs could be manipulated by evil AI to do it's bidding.

Can you mistreat a robot?? It is not like it is human or even an animal, it is an artificial thing. I think most viewers got tricked into feeling sorry for the robots and so did that young guy who helped let that robot escape in the helicopter, and that was his ultimate demise, he let his emotions get in the way and totally disregarded his non disclosure agreement too! . Never feel sorry for robots, if you are a builder of robots put in a fail safe programme so they will never harm humans and it would be a good idea to have a shot gun handy too.
