I use diamond stones to sharpen my tools (chisels and planes) because they’re incredibly hard and flat and don’t wear quickly 👌🏼
Each tool has it’s purpose

DBK: 6 minutes 37 seconds to sharp.
Me: 6 Hours 37 minutes still dull.

Got myself the cheapest wet stones (Bear Moo 3000-8000 grit). Been using them for 3 years now for both my kitchen and utility knives. There's a huge curve in them since I don't really bother flattening them but I just follow the curve. For me 50$ stones do the job, no need to spend upward of 200$ to get em' nice and sharp

cmon the stones did a wonderful job they sharpened the knife after all didn't they? And if you have knives in the 50 euro range it makes no sense to get stones that are more expensive than your knives. It is like spending more money to clean the car than the cost of the car..

I have a cheap stone and all my blades are shaving sharp, I have just ordered a CC4 but that is mainly for taking camping. Cheap stone and a strop (I use autosol metal polish on it) works great together

Cheap stone buyer here... why spend the money on something I will sharpen once every two years... even when they are sharp the only things I’m cutting is onions, cabbage, tomatoes, zucchini’s, chicken or steaks for stir frying... Great video and comparison

For the average person the cheap stones ROCK. Even if you have to flatten them ever couple uses thats fine. Most folks will sharpen 1-3x a year and if the 3000 isnt really 3000 just buy the 6000 for $10 and youre good. I can do this buy-ise-flatten and replace like 5x for the money

I got my set for 29 dollars on Amazon n I got say I'm very happy with them. Its not the stone that makes the blade sharp but the person doing the technique

I had one of these cheap stones. It was great for three uses and then I binned it. I now use a set of cheap diamond plates, a fallkniven dc521and a good strop. Perfect and cost less than £100 in total.

The intro guy makes me wonder if that's how I look like when sharpening. Like a happy goofball

I own both Ha No Kuromaku & Chosera stones, BUT I still go back to my favorite Shapton Glass stones.
