Trump Looms Over COP 29

The United Nations' climate confab (COP 29) in Azerbaijan, of all places, will convene less than a week after America's presidential election. It will be pretty glum gathering if Donald Trump returns to the White House. The jet-setting climate bureaucrats may be putting on a brave face claiming that "global climate action" isn't dependent on who sits in the White House, but it's easy to believe that they are already having nightmares. What would Trump's election do to the global climate agenda? The Heartland Institute's H. Sterling Burnett, Anthony Watts, Linnea Lueken and Jim Lakely discuss on Episode #127 of The Climate Realism Show.

I've been re-reading Javier Vinós book "Solving the Climate Puzzle: The Sun's Surprising Role". The hypothesis that carbon dioxide (CO2) was responsible for a warming planet is unproven An alternate hypothesis, Winter Gatekeeper, is offered. The CO2 hypothesis has a glaring weakness that the planet has experienced warmer periods in the past with CO2 levels hovering around 280 parts per million (ppm). That was also the CO2 level during the Little Ice Age. That leaves one with the conclusion that CO2 is not linked to warming. The warming that is the basis for the idea that CO2 is responsible just happened to coincide with the environmental awakening of the last 1970s and early 1980s. It wasn't long before politicians figured out that if they could get CO2 declared a pollutant they could tax that which was causing CO2 levels to rise, fossil fuels. Vinós also introduces the fact that the planet's climate shifts about every 30 years. In 1997 the climate shifted to less warming. How it will shift next, around 2027 is unknown and probably dependent on the Sun.

Perhaps we should sue wind and solar companies for the damage done to the environment.

In Queensland, we have the great Dividing Range along the east coast. This is mainly remnant vegetation primarily because it was too hard to develop agriculture in early days. Now it is being devastated by windmills, powerlines and pumped hydro.

None of these screwball "green" projects deserves a dime in government funding. If somebody thinks his idea is so great, let him spend his own money (and that of willing private investors) to bring it to market. Then see what consumers think.

E) Fitting for "The more the merrier."
F) Inconsequential in warming
G) Has diminishing returns in its minor role in warming
H) Misunderstood & misused by alarmists
I) Used as a scare-mongering political tool
J) Basically not life-sustaining at <1/3 as current
