But there are also plenty of regional chains in both the South and the Northeast that deserve the spotlight, too. Although its not an east coast chain, i wish i saw more white castles outside of NY/NJ whenever i go to other east coast states.

Buffalo NY we have Mighty Taco. It started out a small place to go after a night of partying. Now they are many stores and the food is amazing!!

yep. down here in VA we have Bojangles (had some a few weeks back), Cookout (I like their shakes) Wawa's (they make pretty good subs) Zaxby's and Friendly's (think they're out of business though) Now I'm hungry 😋😋😋🍔🍕🍖🍗🍰

Can we talk about just Texas chains that need to come to other place? Fuzzy's, Whataburger

Friendly's and Shake Shack are the only two on this list that are anywhere near me, and Friendy's is more known as a sit down restaurant.
Sadly, Friendly's is slowly going away. There were three near me, and it's now down to one. The employees of one of them didn't know that they location was shutting down for good until they were walking out the door after locking up for the night.

Don't ever think of Friendly's as "fast food"; I've eaten in full service restaurants that were better at getting the food out quickly.

Bojangles is great the biscuits are cooked fresh and the ingredients are great……….10 .varsity food is great and fresh cooked well……..9 .

If I ever went to grottos and Rita’s I would get these
Grottos: the buffalo pizza with cheesy garlic bread
Rita’s: peach frozen ice with cake batter frozen custard (gelati)
