I had the “it’s just pressure” when I complained of pain, turned out baby had flipped posterior and I was in fact feeling pain, not pressure 🤦🏼‍♀️

That new nurse definitely needed another nurse there, because sje can do her job properly.

Don't trust any medical professional who tells you your pain is in your head. 😢

I had a bitch of a nurse with my ladt child i got an epidural 30 mins before he was born and 5 mins after b he was out the nurse saidbget up and go pee i said i cant feel my legs i cant walk she said ill help you in this chair and take you to the bathroom then proceded to drag me out of the bed and bring me to the bathroom she kept asking me if i had peed yet and im like idk I CANT FEEL ANYTHING. She said push. Then asked me again. I lied and said yup i went then she said good then left me in the bathroom i called to my husband and he carried me back to the bed. He wasnt happy either. She came back in the room and tried to move me to switch rooms i told her i want someone else because she was horrid. Didnt see her again the rest of my stay.

When my mum gave birth to me she had a 2 medical students and she was bleeding a lot, so much so they had the replace the pad underneath every few minutes. My mum screams that she is gonna die, my dad yelled at them bc she was getting weaker and weaker. Until they finally helped. Also, she had a c-section bc I was chunky asf which didn’t help. My mum didn’t even sue they were lucky. Also, I may add in the same hospital my mums friend’s a baby died and it was all their fault bc she said the baby wasn’t breathing, they put a tube up the babies nose and damaged the nasal cavity and made it so much worse. There are other situations with my mums friends aswell.

Had an OB appointment, she says my BP is too high, to go home, eat, get ready and get all my stuff and go to L&D and get induced. Fine, it was two days before due date, no biggie. Little did I know the hell I was about to go through.

Once I was gowned, I was immediately put on pitocin. Im 4"11 and was 105lbs at my heaviest while pregnant. They gave me so much pitocon after about two hours i had so much pain and pressure I could barely speak. Day shift midwife comes in, barely looks at me from the doorway and calls two nurses, she tells them to have me push.

They both stand there holding each of thighs looking completely annoyed. They both just kept saying "push, push, push, push, push, push" over and over and over and over and i tried, believe me, but i finally screamed out "I cant! It's killing me!" I thought i was going to die. They stopped, left, and i lay there sobbing for the next two hours with my poor husband crying and asking me if i wanted to go to a different hospital. I was in so much pain I couldn't even think straight.

At 7 hours, the head nurse comes in and asks me if my cervix has been checked. "No." They started a giant pitocin drip and had me push without ever once checking my cervix. This is my first kid, i had no idea what they were supposed to have been doing, and apparently neither did any of them. She was shocked and immediately checked me. She looked at me wide eyed and said "Has your water even broken yet?" "Nope." She immediately turns the pitocon down, i was being given WAY too much for not having my water broke yet and barely being at maybe 2cm.

So she breaks my water and offers me the epidural finally. I needed it so bad by that point. I thought things were finally going to be okay. Nope. I labored in misery all night that night and all day the next day because that whole time my epidural had not been placed correctly. The next day late afternoon, my OB finally comes on the floor. Orders me a new epidural and oversees, it's finally placed correctly, she also lowered my pitocin to almost nothing saying she couldn't believe how high they had it.

She knew they hadn't taken good care of me AT ALL. I was sobbing and i begged her to just give me a CSection because I felt like if i suffered for five more minutes i was going to die. With a working epidural and lowered pitocin, soon things improved. I passed out so hard and when she next woke me to check me, i was ready to go. 8pm. I had arrived for infiction the day before at 10am. I labored for 22 hours. My sweet baby girl had held in there with me through all that stress and hell and my OB coached me very well through pushing.

In the end, baby girl was perfect and I lived.... barely, it felt like. My husband and i were so traumatized by how many horrible nurses and idiot L&D staff we'd dealt with. I went through so much unnecessary hell and pain due to sheer stupidity on the hospital's part. Husband and i are done having kids and our girl will be an only child because we will never ridk putting me through that nightmare ever again.

Shoulda given an IV bolus of saline before any epidural med ... Hypotension is common w epidural anesthesia, hence the racing heart to compensate and the pallor.

I was so sick for my birth, i had a fever and congestion like hella bad and i was throwing up occasionally. Contractions werent bad at first, woke me up at 5 am and so to make sure they were contractions i took a nice warm bath and that helped but didnt stop the contractions. My baby daddy was at work so i called my mom and she came and picked me up, got me dressed, and drove me to the hospital. By the time they got me to a room i was only 3 cm dilated and screaming bloody murder at every contraction. My mom tried to help me but i hurt so bad so she ended up urging the nurses to get me the epidural push button one immediately. One hour later i had the epidural and of course they inserted the needle right in the middle of a contraction so i screamed bloody murder it hurt so bad. After that i passed out once the epidural started working. 10 hours later i had too much epidural and from my below my boobs to my toes were numb so bad i couldnt move, i struggled to push my son out and was throwing up and couldnt breath. My son ended up swallowing meconium and was in a bit of danger but he ended up fine. The night nurse however didnt understand that i was paralized from the waist down and refused to help me and threatened to call CPS because i couldnt reach my baby to feed him. I told the doctor in the morning and had her fired.

My epidural didn’t work on my left side and when my nurse had them come do a second one, that man asked me FIVE TIMES if I was sure it wasn’t just pressure my nurse snapped at him for me bc I was in too much pain to talk 💀

My epidural was put in wrong. Now I have a numb spot on my back. They put the fetal monitor in wrong and didn't believe me when I was screaming that the baby was coming. My boyfriend had to go YELL at the doctor to get her ass in the room or else that baby was going to pop out and land on the floor. I kept fainting. They wouldn't even give me water. I'm traumatized, 100%. If my period is late, I literally break down sobbing. I can't do it again. I'll never do it again. I'd rather be deceased than go through that again. I don't know how y'all with more than one kid do it. Y'all are strong and brave. I could never

My nurse didn't believe me when I said my epidural wasn't working, I was feeling a lot of discomfort. Low and behold, my epidural line had snapped. The nurse looked a little red when the anesthesiologist pulled the end full length of the line, and noticed all my epidural shots were going into the bed instead of into my back. He clipped the end of it, popped on the plastic bit and reattached the line. Luckily, nothing like this happened to me but still. Felt quite annoyed that my nurse didn't believe me when I said I was feeling uncomfortable again. Lol anesthesiologist had the same vibe from The Resident Dr Hawkins 😂 was great.

I had this! I was in sooo much pain!
They thought I had to do hours but suddenly they rushed me away, I was already 10cm and the head was already on it's way. Didn't feel a thing of that epidural.
Doctors always think everything is in your head.
I can write books about it 😒

This happened to my mom when she was giving birth to me. She had hemorrhaged. If the doctor had not taken her pain seriously, she would not be alive today. Always trust your intuition, especially when it comes to higher risk health situations!
