From melting glaciers to rising sea levels and sinking homes, Al Jazeera’s Environment Correspondent Nick Clark takes us through his experience covering the climate crisis. Despite the challenges ahead, he explains why there are reasons to be hopeful in our latest Between Us episode.

As the world slowly emerges from the pandemic and the US rejoins the Paris Agreement, Clark says the road to a more sustainable future is still possible. “It’s almost a perfect storm of opportunity to beat climate change.”

This video would have been lovely 40 years ago. But it's a bit late for making cute videos. There needs to be real action.

If excess CO2 from human activity is causing global warming, how did an ice sheet 3 1/2 miles thick on top of North America melt before the Industrial Revolution ?

Folks, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins.
He was buried and resurrected on the third day.
Believe on Him to be saved.

The human population increases by around 81 million people per year... That means every 4 years the population of the US is added to the human footprint.... Over 220, 000 additional humans per day, every day, for decades... So, when the Paris agreement plans to transition the Western world over the next thirty years.... And during that time, over 7 additional US populations will need power/shelter/food worldwide?... I hope you can get some perspective as to why current technologies can't possibly save tiny We need to invent new technologies.... We also need to acknowledge overpopulation as a fundamental problem.

Weather manipulation isn't climate change. Direct energy weapons used to create forest fires aren't "wildfires" and chemtails and purposely melting the arctic ice sheet in order to mine for minerals and diging for oil does matter but it's the narrative being pushed I disagree with. Over fishing and hunting is an issue. But it's false in the way it's being told.

*In their own words*

"No matter if the science of global warming is all phony…climate change provides the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world." — Former Canadian Minister of the Environment, Christine Stewart

"The challenge I think we have is for some reason climate change has become a religion -- a politically induced religion instead of science fact that now we have to embrace and move forward on." — Former EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy

"The interesting thing about the Green New Deal is that it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all." -- "Do you guys think of it as a climate thing?" -- "Because we really think of it as a thing." — Saikat Chakrabarti, former chief of staff to Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
