Very good info. One important thing though, rabbits need a break on their feet and body's from the wire bottom of the cages. We put a cut piece of plywood on one side of cage, but each of our rabbits also had a hutch. They don't poop in the hutch because we don't put any hay in them. Rabbits pick an area or two to do their business and you do want that falling through the wire. They usually will poop wherever the straw or grass is given.  We leave a lot of grass hay on a piece of plywood cut to hold the hay, let bunnies rest, and chew on. Its easy to lift out and clean when needed.  They also get cleaned out empty Gatorade bottles filled with rocks to throw around and play. We also give them a mineral salt wheel, chew sticks, and each one gets a stuffed animal toy. Rabbits are smart and social critters. Even if you are using them for meat, they deserve a happy, healthy life while they are here.    Blessings

My dad raised rabbits, and he was always careful to see they had something to stand on, so their feet did not get hurt on the wire.  Please check into this, they cannot get away from the screen.

He said he had the rabbit tractor. They obviously aren’t always in the cages, but he did say it was winter. It gets -20 in Ohio,

Good job building that house there Grace!

A better way to keep your bunnies would be in a small shed with a fenced yard. They’d be free to run around and do what bunnies do, yet still be safe. Then you just scoop the poop for you garden.

I just bought an acre and a half, this is at least a half acre bigger than mine.

1 acre is 91% a football field....
You have more than that 😂😂

Thank you for sharing the video of your lovely home and family with us!

Most people cannot visualize 1 acre because they have nothing to compare it to and because an acre can be any shape as long as it is 43, 560 sq.ft.
That is just about the size of a football field without the sidelines.
So if they can imagine how much each 10 yard line is, they can imagine how much can be garden, how much can be chickens, how much house and lawn can be etc.

You are so blessed to be able to homestead. In our city, we can't catch rainwater or hang our clothes out to dry. That is against the law in Provo, UT. You are a great example of what you can do if you just put your mind to it. Thanks for sharing.

Your family should be proud of your accomplishments.  The hard work put into your homestead shines brightly.  I love that your pup is camera shy.  She's a cutie, for certain.

i got 250 free pallets in one go this year, a lot of them were in perfect condition. i plan on getting chickens this year and building an epic chicken tractor. i just stumbled upon your video and i'm glad to see that i am not the only crazy person out there doing this. I wish you, your family and your homestead the best of luck. Happy harvesting my friend :)

You are such an encouragement for our family! We're currently renting a house, but hope to buy this coming Spring. Because we live in the city (and plan to stay here because we're helping plant a church) we will only be able to afford an acre or max two. I love seeing your little homestead on an acre!

Great videos. I'm retiring in a few years and will be looking to start a small family farm. Think I will have 5-10 acres to work with and seeing things like this gives me an good idea of what I will be able to do.
