This is crazy. I grew up with Anthony in Havertown, PA. Have known his family since I was knee high to a duck. His mom (Featured in this vid) and my mom are pals. This is amazing to see his story gain some traction and attention. And what a wonderful channel to do so! Thanks, Peter.

I just met this family at a wedding and they sent me this link. Instantly, you could feel their warmth. Great people! Free spirits!

As someone who lives in the suburbs outside Philly, it's nice to see this guy get away from Kensington and have a better life

Peter, I love how you allow people to tell their stories. You never get in the way. Really enjoyed the Appalachian episodes (I’m from Harlan). Keep it up and thank you 🙏🏻

Once again you've introduced us to some special people who are living life on their terms. I'm totally obsessed with all things Alaska so I'm thrilled you are taking us into it and showing us different aspects of that beautiful state. Thank you as always for the amazing work you do.

Peter, I think it would be amazing if you would think about sharing the indigenous people of Hawaii (my people) and their plight. I watched your Crow segment and the cultural similarities are next level. Thank you for sharing these beautiful stories and life experiences of the people/places you visit❤️

There are countless others who started up here like these guys.
He hits the nail on the head, you want freedom, do it yourself. It's up to you.

I could not live like this, but I applaud people who can. There is always a trade off to live the way we want, but happiness is definitely a worthy cause.

I don't know for some reason, I keep watching your videos, and waiting for the new one. It is an unbiased representation of the people. Keep up the good work.

I lived in Kenai Alaska during the pandemic, and it was one of the most beautiful places ive lived. it was -25 with 40 mph winds the day that we arrived, and it was a hard year for covid and I headed back to Washington state after i went through a breakup, but I really want to go back because of the unadulterated beauty and pristine air quality. I've been all over this country, and Alaska and Montana are two of the last two places that still feel truly free.

20+ years ago I was at a bar in New Orleans. Was sitting next to an Alaskan homesteader that worked on an oil rig for a scientific project. I asked him his biggest piece of advice: during winter to bring the toilet seat back inside after using it. 😅

I'm 42 but the tree house building kid in me just smiles from ear to ear. No codes, no nothing.. just go for it.

My husband was born and raised in Alaska, and his family has lived in Alaska for generations. His family remembers when Alaska wasn't even a state. Most of his family live super remote, you can only get to by plane or air boat, and live off the land. It is the most rural place I have ever seen.

Great video!

We left the city and spent 12 years off-grid in the rainforest. This is all very familiar. Interesting neighbors (from scientists to tweakers), fresh food (our kids used to eat directly from our plants; not even picking with their hands), no decent grocery store for miles, free thinkers who can agree to disagree, thriftin' at the dump, weird crime (someone down the road from us had their HOUSE stolen); all of it. 😂
We're in a town now, for various reasons, but I definitely miss a lot about this way of life, and we still talk about eventually going back to off-grid living.
