Max Canada Lynx Catwalk

Max and I have not been on a training walk since early July and I was not sure how it was going to go today. I was truly amazed with his calm demeanor. Now that the weather has become cooler and I'm no longer sick, we can spend more time together walking.

It's a form of affirmation for him. Instead of a food treat, he's rewarded with a good boy tap. Even when I first greet him in the morning he stops alongside my legs and waits for a tap. When we are walking, it also keeps him focused in the here & now, preventing him to slip inside his thoughts and get the adrenaline pumping.

Thanks for posting all the videos of Max.  Although this one is 4 years old, I had never seen it.  You are very lucky to have Max and he is lucky to have you.  The people who say you should release him into the wild are nuts.  He would not know what to do without you and would not survive long in the wild.

What a sweetie and he is good on the leash. My 3 kitties won't go on a leash but my 4 kitty will. Thanks for sharing. : )

Thank you for your reply but releasing a captive-born feline into the wild would be a death sentence. They learn to hunt from their mothers. Marking a territory is a male behavior and perfectly natural.

My housecat equally enjoys his 'good boy taps' when he rubs on my leg (and just about any other time, too.)

I possess a federal and state license to own him. He's an educational animal ambassador and was purchased through a zoo once I had the proper credentials.

Max has serious spring power wrapped up in his rear legs. If it was affordable maybe a hired 'walker' would help unravel some stress. Like 4 or 5 hour walks.

why is leash so small? doesn't it make more sence to give him more distance to cover from you ? or is there some reason for that ?

Max is more of a small Jaguar than a big domestic cat! Size wise.
Would he survive in the wild? I don't suppose it would be safe to let him roam free?

if people were better educated about these and other small exotic breeds such as bobcats, etc. maybe they would not be out there shooting them for no reason.
