💜 Thank you SO much for all the positivity you put into your videos! Having debt is such a crushing feeling, but facing it head on helps. I really needed to hear that I can do this!!

Hey Kate, I would love another 2024 budget video like this, esp with the cost of living rising.🤩

I taught my children to budget as soon as they receive any money.this was hard when they got older but paid off for them.half of their money went into a saving.when they turned 18 i gave them the bank books.two of my three children bought homes at 19 using their savings as a down payment. And im proud to say they still continue to save and they are teaching their kids to save

I have budgeted my money since my first job at 17. My Daddy taught me that to pay him $50 a month for board, then save some and keep some spending money. I just made $96 a week then! I eventually got a job with the Post Office and purchased my own home at age 37.

this is a good starter budget...two other categories I would add are medical...for copays and deductible...also pets...not for food but for vet bills and such

I would like to say as far as the house cleaner goes - your giving someone a job, your freeing up time for Kaden, work, and self care aka massages that are all so important! Love this Kate - thanks for filming it!

One of my best recommendations is once you have an emergency fund, figure out what annual expenses come around every year like property taxes, termite inspection, escrow shortages, etc. Save for those throughout the year. I've now that now consistently for over a year and it was great having the money once it's time. I have added more categories now. I looked at expenses that we ended up charging that we should have saved for. That's helped us not add more debt than what we already have while paying off what we do have.

I started in Nov 2019 with a budget and spent over a $1000 on food for 2 PEOPLE !!!! I now spent $250 a month. I am building my emergency fund and have paid off a small debt. I am a pen and paper person. I am also using Every Dollar for the first time. I have a Blessings category. Yes the first few months were hard BUT you just have to keep going.

I like how you explained the importance of giving. That it is helping your mindset to not be so attached to your money. I like that. Thanks!

Love the simplicity!
What I love most: it's late June and 2 years after you originally posted this video - and I can follow your lead re the next three months, July, August, September - and have a credit card paid off by this December!! Thank you!

I too am a single mom and just love the simplicity and practicality of your information because when things get too complicated, simplicity is our friend! I have been debt free before and I know I can do it again! Thank you for your positivity and encouragement. Cheers!

I know I'm late coming to the party... but I'm in tears with excitement because for the first time I don't feel powerless or overwhelmed by the idea of a budget! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you Kate! I needed to find you... TODAY! 🥰

This video is awesome. I've been budgeting for a while and have 1 more student loan to go. I would love to do videos like yours in Spanish because I feel this kind of video helps a lot. Keep up the good work.

I did my budget....I will be debt free in 2 mos. I am so excited. I will have so much money to save. I can still keep cable if I want too. Writing it down on paper is so eye opening. I have waste so much money on junk. Could have been free of debt 6 mos ago. Boom!!!! 👀 wide open now! Thank you! I am so excited

I love your enthusiasm. I love that you have a budget item for giving. I love Dave Ramsey, so I have several sinking funds for the budget items that are paid annually...such a comfort to know the money is there when it's due instead of robbing another budget item or worse yet - charging it. I use an Excel spreadsheet to keep up with the balances in my envelopes. Finally, finally after a year of working with the budget on a fixed income (retired and widowed), the act of working out the monthly budget is actually satisfying instead of gut wrenching. I love that you have such a positive attitude rather than teaching that budgeting is all drudgery. Diane in North Carolina

Thank you for this video. I get tickled at how excited you get over a budget. I feel like I was just sitting in a locker room at halftime 30 points down and you were my coach giving a "we- can-still-win-this" pep talk. Loved.it!
