So agree….would always prefer seeing the REAL NYC….more authentic, better memories. experience meeting locals. The tourist attractions move you around like cattle and tell you what to see, eat, hear. I prefer to meet real NYC residents, shop real NYC places, eat real NYC places. More empowering, blazing your own trail vs. being told what to see/do. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I usually seggest folks hit one of the amazing roof top bars for the views - at least they can spend their money on a couple of drinks and have some ambience too, and avoid the tourist crowds!
