I was hoping to brush up on the note in depth reasons surrounding the council of Trent. Seems not many truly know. All Glory to God and my Savior Jesus Christ!

The Counsel of Trent settled that the "BIBLE" is not the highest authority which ran from 1545 - 1563, and the Counsel of Trent established that "Tradition" is as high as the BIBLE itself, and sometimes even higher than the BIBLE. The BIBLE is not the highest authority in the Catholic Church. It is a religious system. Advocating for the vernacular did not give anathema. The anathema was if you advocated ONLY for the vernacular and denied the use of Latin in the mass.
