Thank you for your response. I want to follow it up with the questions on oral tradition and how did most of the early church deal with a low supply of manuscripts and how to answer to Roman Catholic claims of authenticity of these traditions.

The Augustine example does not help your case here. He did in fact believe these books are canonical and not simply because they were bound in the same book.
