You'll never know how good a Saab is until you've actually driven one.

As a citizen of Trollhättan, Saabs closure completely destroyed our city.
We went from having some of the lowest unemployment rates to being the city with the most unemployed, turning 2 very big neighborhoods into complete ghettos

It's been 11 years, and yet the pain of loosing this quarky Swedish brand still stings. I remember a time where I saw a Saab almost every day in Swindon. Now I hardly see them, save for mine.

Yep, those were the days...I was educated partially at Saab for 4 years. I worked in every corner of the place.
I miss going through the gates at Saab, swing by the kiosk to buy my daily kebab-sandwich and a drink, and then off to the assembly-line to say good morning to my work mates.
After Saab was closed down, there was an entire city just standing there..."What do we do now...?", and the place almost became a ghosttown.
Now its all just barbers, restaurants and pubs.
Years later that 5-star safety came in to play. I was in an accident with my Saab 9000 CS, head on collision with a sleeping person behind the wheel in a (new) Saab 93, at about 70kmh on a small country road. I went into the ditch, he whent flying of into the forrest, and we all escaped without a scratch.
Safety was a top priority, and it Really made an -impact- on me.
Good job Saab for safety AND....comfort.
You will be missed.

"Let's not forget whose engines powered the first ever jet fighter... BMW" I love that closing sentence.

At 0:30 I swear that Jeremy Clarkson is very close to don't hold that against him at all. I had to wipe a tear away.

I will always have my at most respect to Jeremy and James for their righteous critique to SAAB.

I'm Swedish and i still have my 9000 which runs perfectly fine.

When you see another Saab driver on the road you instantly appreciate the person driving it!

After all these years, one still harbours hope that a wealthy visionary with a passion for the Saab ethos appears and revives the legend we know, love, grieve and miss, SAAB!!!

Saab went under cos of princable they didn't want their cars to be rebadged Vauxhalls. I admire that.

I live in Australia, Ford, General Motors, Mitsubishi, all gone, all we have now are imports. I miss Saab as well. I drive a Peugeot 407, a 2004 model, it has more feature's than a 2021 import.

I live in Trollhättan and I have just started to practice for my driving license. Me and my fahter usually drive out to the old Saab factory and development area and I drive around in the vacant parkinglots. They have close to no use nowadays And some parts are even closed of and a bit of grass has starded growing there. Is quite a sad site seaing the rusty gates to once such a thriving part of Trollhättan.

I've always loved Saabs. I loved their design, their quality and the fact they always dared to be different. I was very sad to hear of their demise. I've only ever owned one, a 1987 D plate 9000S. I paid £200 in the year 2000 and it never let me down once. All four electric windows worked perfectly, it had a sunroof and it was quick enough for what it was. One day I'd love to get my hands on a 9000 Aero or maybe a Carlsson.

SAABs are special. I use the present tense in 2024 because they are still around. A neighbour of mine still drives his impeccably well-maintained 2010 9-3 and I mentally salute it every time I see it.

I still have my lovely red 9-5 vector griffin, going as strong as ever.
As long as we remeber Saab in our hearts they won't be truly gone, haha.
