Chief Historian Garry Adelman gives a presentation on the history of the Revolutionary War in America.

The American Battlefield Trust preserves America’s hallowed battlegrounds and educates the public about what happened there and why it matters. We permanently protect these battlefields for future generations as a lasting and tangible memorial to the brave soldiers who fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and the Civil War.

To think there were no Humvees. These Pariots simply marched all over the land for days and weeks to fight for freedom. Bless them all.

This is the type of stuff that should be on the history channel. But it’s only on YouTube. I’m liking his history lectures more than anything I find on the history channel or in history stuff itself

As an American, and a Student of History, I truly appreciate all that the French and Spanish did in support of the Rebels. But, it is also clear that they did this mainly to defeat the British, rather than to support the Rebels. The French had spent many years fighting the British and even considered invading England, while the Spanish wanted to retake Gibraltar. The American Revolution was fortunately well timed to coincide with the French and Spanish Goals.

That statement about John Tyler at the end is amazing.

I think it’s awesome he mentions ninety-six. My ancestor Captain James Butler Sr. was an officer of the force that laid siege to that district.

Love your enthusiasm. Always inspirational. Thank you for the optimism, pep talk. A recent president campaigned on "hope and change." The last two-plus decades has seen too much of the latter, not nearly enough of the former.

Actually, the shot heard round the world was the shot fired in Concord, not in Lexington. Because in Lexington the colonials stood their ground but then were blown away, while in Concord the Americans fought back.

I needed something to listen to while I made breakfast today. This is fantastic. My next book to read is 1776 and this is a nice introduction (been a while since 3rd grade social studies)

Well done! I think 'Adelman' will eventually become an adjective. As in—"that presentation was almost Adelmanesque"
All kidding aside. I LOVED this. And I'm only half kidding.

As a foreigner the year by year analysis with topographical maps and army movements really illuminated my knowledge of the revolutionary war. Before that I knew about Bunker hill, the Delaware crossing, Cornwallis southern campaign and so on but never in such a detail and in correct chronological order.
