IIS (Internet Information Services) - What is...

IIS is Microsofts implementation of a web server for Windows. It's free to use with Windows Server and can even be deployed on a Windows 10 machine. IIS is an easy to use GUI and may be preferred over Apache or NGINX when building web apps that fully utilize the Microsoft Stack.

I'm approaching my first year as a developer and have been assigned the task of creating a web api. IIS kept coming up in my research and my company is windows based so they use IIS of course. I no longer need to pretend to know what IIS is now that this video just gave me much better understanding :D

iis - To deploy a website you need a web server.
IIs is microsft's OS web server.
If you buy a windows server you get IIS free.
If you are using windows you can use IIS for free.

Why use IIS instead of apache?
Because we already have the licenses and microsoft type of ting.

I presume there is a light which is facing you so that your face will be properly illuminated, however, because of this light, there is a reflection in your eyes, and a small dot of that appears on your eyes. It looks very wired. You may choose to adjust the light focus in a way that it issue doesn't reoccur
