When electrolysis of aqueous sodium chloride takes place, chlorine gas is formed at the anode and 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗴𝗮𝘀 is liberated at the cathode. Aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide is also formed.

when I found the channel it was accident, but after watching videos I always dreamt a like from the legend Parth Sir

0:45 This phenomenon is known as electrolysis at the anode the chlorine gas will be released whereas at the anode side it will release the hydrogen gas that reacts slowly
Your teaching and explanation is wonderful i like your teaching skills whereas my friends also likes your videos
Thankyou parth sir for everything you give us ❤

Sir you r fabulous I must say because you are being crystal clear while teaching and you are the only sir on YouTube who teaches the concept in detail you are more than our expectation u for enhancing our interest towards science in such a effective support is always behind you ...and even trying to circulate information about your channel as extent as possible

Parth sir, can you plz take a test after every lecture?
You took an objective test after thr last lecture and that was very helpful because we get to know all main main qs that can be asked

Sodium chloride is dissociated and exists as sodium and chloride ions in aqueous solution. Electrolysis of sodium chloride is easier in aqueous solution. But, water itself can undergo reduction and oxidation reactions at different potentials. So, the substance that is oxidized or reduced is not sodium and chloride ions alone but it may involve the water molecule also.

At 9:13 how cation can be small and anion can be big ? Cause
Let take nacl
Na (cation ) e.c- 2, 8, 1
Cl. (anion) e.c- 2, 8, 7
Here Na is big as per while going right to periodic radius goes on
So anion is small and cation can be big .
😊😊😊😊😊

As cl2 is -ve charged it attach to positive terminal due to electrolysis .Therefore H will attach to anode

sir, I have a doubt about the table of (melting and boiling point of some ionic compounds) on pg no. 99 sir, we have to learn that table
The rest concepts are crystal clear
Thank you so much, sir.
