Democratic Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says he had been a drug abuser starting in his teens but then got sober in 1983 and has stayed sober with the help of a 12-step program. He also credits his sobriety to a spiritual awakening based partially on the teachings of Carl Jung.

Jimmy relishes the opportunity to discuss Jungian philosophy, which he also credits with saving his life.

How nice to hear real vulnerable honesty from a presidential candidate. RFK jr. is a real person, not some political cardboard cutout.

I am in tears...a politician speaking candidly about his imperfections in life like everyone else...unheard of and incredble to see. If there was a politician I would vote for, he would be my first one.

Wow!
2 grown men having a honest conversation about religion, that is rare.

RFK is clearly not your average politician.

Did anybody notice how Jimmy just sat back and allowed Kennedy to talk about his history without interrupting? Love ya Jimmy!

My son is an addict and currently in jail. I found this part of the interview so moving I was crying. This is a massive problem with people of all kinds. We need to have a president who will lovingly address peoples pain.

I have never in my entire 53 years of life heard a more amazing conversation with a politician like this one! Over the last few months, I’ve been listening to RFK Junior, and I’ve liked what I’ve heard, but this… Makes me love, THE MAN! I have never voted democrat But if this guy were to win, I would sleep better at night… That is for sure!

And yes… I love you too Jimmy!

This is one of the things that makes him have empathy for others, truly lacking in most politicians.

It's refreshing how Jimmy just let Bobby tell his story without any intruruption. This message might save someone's life.

He speaks extemporaneously over a long period of time. When he digresses, he is able to come back to his main line of thought rather than losing it.

This guy's all there.

I've been sober 33 years. For me also it was a 12 step program. Thank you AA.

I found myself crying as I listened to RFK Jr telling the country, and the world, about the spirituality found in the AA 12 steps. As a recovering alcoholic, I am thankful.

Happy, joyous, and free for 15 years following the 12 step program. So thankful.

Peace that surpasses all understanding.

he is a brilliant, loving, powerful, empathetic, courageous, spiritual, kind, focused man. it's inspirational to hear about his weakest moments, his struggles, and his triumphs over personal demons. this man is a treasure, the most honest man in politics since they murdered his family.
