Victorinox Officers Watch: $156 Swiss Perfection

The perfect analog watch. Seriously this is one of my ALL time favorites. Interestingly it comes from our beloved Victorinox company, producer of the Hall of Fame Cadet pocket knife here in TNP. Setting out on a quest to find its equivalent in watch, I find, test, and review Victorinox Swiss Army Officers' watches in both black face (241549) and silver face (241550). Buy these quick b. it seems Victorinox has discontinued them. Maybe it's because they weren't making enough money on these extreme value, classic military watches: thin, waterproof to 100M, high quality leather bands (see SS options below), SAPHIRE crystal, high legibility, high durability, and classic good looks. These Victorinox watches are standards of measure in the analog world. Good luck beating their Swiss quality and good looks at these prices.

Im not a casio type, and this is why i haven't been enthused by your watch reviews. I absolutely love the Wenger/ Victorinox style of watches. Please keep up the swiss variety. Awesome!

I love simple, thin, light and leather band watches. These are right up my alley.

20 years ago, I was gifted a Victorinox watch for my Bar bitzva, was on my wrist for over ten years, gave it to my nephew, he's had it now for around ten years, held up great. Love victorinox.

I have a victorinox chrono Classic (~$500). It's absolutely classic, conservatively good looking. It's part of me. I like that concept you talked about with the cadet.

Ive been a Victorinox watch fan for years. The Victorinox INOX would be an ideal addition to the project. The Infantry is a fantastic field watch. The Maverick is fantastic as well.

I love all my Victorinox watches and especially their automatics! As you stated they are a TON of watch for the money. The sapphire Victorinox uses is hardened to 3x the industry standard at what I believe is 1, 200 Vickers and its perfect for my lifestyle (construction). It would take a diamond bit to scratch that baby! Also the Swiss made ETA engine in them is top of the line and rarely seen in Sub 1k watches. I have a review of one of them on my channel. Not trying to sound like a salesman I just really like Victorinox's automatics and I don't think they get the credit they deserve.

I have owned 3 Victorinox watches over the last 15 years. They have been very durable. Very classy.

i bought the silver one in 2016, i got my first job, teaching 4th grade and wanted to treat myself, it basically became my best friend, I constantly had to look at my watch, run back and forth around the school, pick up the kid, drop them off etc. very happy with it, and now its worth a lot more than i paid. The band got tattered and ripped though so I bought a traditional band with the buckle and holes.

Thx to your review I EDC a Victorinox Cadet for some years now. (one of the view knives you can carry legally in Germany, no locking knives allowed since 2008).

Really enjoy the watch reviews and love the fact that you incorporate some knife stuff in there too. Can't say I'm as big a fan for this style of watch, preferring the more rugged/outdoor style ones, but can still appreciate the quality and design.

I bought a black-faced Maverick chrono about 10 years ago for about $350.00, which was the retail price back then. I've had to replace the rubber wrist band twice and the battery twice (Victorinox band is about $75.00 but after-markets are probably worth using for the price, and I have the battery replaced by an authorized dealer for $10.00), but it's an otherwise great watch. The sapphire crystal looks like it did the day I purchased it, and ever since it's been everywhere with me when I'm not at work - from gym to trails to water. There's no need to defend a Victorinox purchase, and the price of the officer's watch can't be beat with the sapphire crystal and day-date.

I have the black faced, steel bracelet AUTOMATIC version of this watch. Yes it was pricey, but it is my main watch. It is 100% legible - you only need to see it for a fraction of a second to know the time. Great watch. As you say, the Quartz is a great deal. Mine came also in a box set with a knife too. Mine also has an open caseback to see the mechanism.

I had one of the old ones like you showed. It was white faced, and not quite as beat up, but close. I wore it for about 15 years. I would still wear it now, but I seem to have misplaced it when I was moving. I loved that watch. I really should replace it. The battery lasts about 3 years.
