Wenger Classic Field Watch- Swiss Quality Affordable

We find out Mrs Nutnfancy is Scandinavian. It's close enough to Switzerland to have fun with it in this watch review. Then we get serious and look at one the best Swiss watch values around, WENGER. This is the Classic Field Watch 72802 and features amazing Swiss build quality at a low price. The "Attitude" model is also shown and discussed but a bit more expensive. Like Victorinox watches, these Wengers feature sapphire crystals, high accuracy, legible faces, elegant cases with polished backs (and Swiss Army knife logos!], and handsome looks.

I've had a Wenger for a couple of year. Dive model (with a fourth hand for 24hours, useless) with saphire. Bought it because it was the best estheticaly balanced. Turns out it's a really tough watch! Never got scratched. Seals have held up high pressure steam, regular dipping in oils and agressive fluids. Been shooting 30.06 and 44mag regularly. Exposed to neglect and abuse like when I weld, work on cars or house. Basicly the one I pick when I know I'll be rough. Still ticks, glass never scratched, lum still great... The batery lasts less than other watches though. So impressed I will waste the cash to leave it in a shop (I live next to Switzerland) to have the seals changed...and looking at a Seaforce...

In the video you mentioned Mrs Nutnfancy's heritage being proudly displayed in the video, but that lineage said sweden, but Swiss is Switzerland.

Damn, thank you nutn for featuring a non-ugly, cheap, crappy looking Casio. I love the field style military inspired pieces. I have a Citizen BM8180-03E and like it a lot; it's really a great value. The Hamilton Field Khaki is also great but definitely more pricey.

I am in the same boat as you Nutn. I am turn between the crazy functionality and durability of a Casio G-Shock... but these low profile classic simple watches are beautiful and for me (I work in an office) it is often easier for me to slip on and off a sport coat with a thinner watch.

If you want to preserve the battery life on your mechanical watches when you're not using them just pull out the stem and battery usage will stop.
Of course you will have to reset it when you decide to wear it again but this is a really good way to save battery life, especially if you have lots of mechanical watches.

seiko skx007 or any of the skx lines are very good watches for the price point. they are some of my favorite. just acquired a orient ray raven as a beater daily watch to add to the collection. they are put together perfectly and both watches have fantastic lume
