Hello from Dimple,,
We have one of our favourite guests, Kim Jung Ah here today. She watched US Veterans coming home from war,, and was bawling throughout the video..
It broke our hearts to learn and know that North Korean risk not just their life, but their family's life back in North Korea, not to mention the fact that they escape, knowing they will
never be able to see their family in their life time again. Currently, Kim Jeong Ah has one daughter she left behind in North Korea, and one daughter she left behind in China (due to the forced repatration system).
It must've hit home harder for her. To this day, she still is unable to hear of her daughter.

Follow us on instagram to peep into our production, or give us creative suggestions! :)

You can also send us fan letters or snacks for mukbangs here!

Hope you enjoy!

It's not the people of a country that are bad, its the government, she is living proof

You know it’s a bad military experience when a former officer says her most proud moment was sneaking people out just to see their own families. She’s such a kind officer. I salute her, even though I’m not in the military.

"a living parent cannot recognize a living child" may be one of the most depressing things I've heard in my life.

The fact that as an officer who was an orphan, she was concerned enough for her soldiers to try to give them covert opportunities to see their parents when she had no one...is just heartwarming...

She was a good officer. She did her best for her soldiers.

Watching this has honestly made me more empathetic towards the people of North Korea and how they live. Not recognizing your parents or not recognizing your child after a 10 year military stint is heartbreaking.

As a US combat veteran I know the importance of family support. To put the needs of your subordinates above your own is the actions of a true leader. I am greatful to you, for them.

"only my parents grave greets me when I go home"

There are no words in the English language and korean language that can describe such a painful void in ones heart. That is an overwhelmingly saddening sentence to hear.

"I'm an orphan so I don't have any parents to greet me whenever I visit home...."

Gut punch. Hard.

My hat's off to you, Madam.

"North a country that destroys family."

Wow that's a powerful quote.

Edit: damn whoever this Mich K was, they felt so attacked that they deleted their comment.

The fact she gave those soldiers time with their parents at such a risk proves how amazing she is. She has a giant heart.

Her being an orphan made me cry so hard she is so empathetic to their issues and can’t even truly experience it. Her loss is the deepest. One day North Korea will be held accountable for holding its citizens hostage

“North Korea... is a country that destroys families.”

Barely 30 seconds in and she’s breaking my heart, there’s nothing funny about a soldier crying.

“I am an orphan and have only my parents grave to greet me when I come home”.
that broke me. I’m probably about your age, but my family and I will proudly greet you if you ever come our way.

Her husbands story hurts me so much. "Who is this man" would hurt so much

Soldiers are soldiers no matter what country they fight for. They're all humans in the end

I’m a Marine Corps veteran and teared up alongside her during this video, especially when she talked about her parents’ graves. It is amazing to me that she is most proud of helping her soldiers see their families during her service. She sounds like an amazingly compassionate officer, and I think anyone would be lucky to serve with her.

She’s a beautiful person showing her genuine feelings. Her cry made me cry. She deserves all the good things in life!
