So the issue is "it's a tad more expensive than vehicles from the size below it??" 🤔

What this reviewer forgot to say is that a bmw ix or audi q8 with the bigger battery and with the same specs as this kia are 30k more in the price. What a biased review.

The fact this reporter lists "cons" compared to a BMW X7 not having the same materials says alot. "It's a con that this doesnt have the same fine grain leather as a 3 times more expensive Gasoline BMW with double the starting price having not a single actual tech feature yet at that price point. But its not a BMW so that is a fault" Roflflffl

a totally unfair review.. good detailed but absolutely not fair with the price.. compares competitors.. with base models vs EV9 full specs.. reviewer should do a proper job comparing models and all extras... not the best review of this car...

The iX can't seat 7 adults. The BMW is not a direct competitor.

Always gets me with all the touch screens in modern cars, why most are laggy, it probably cost the manufacturer $20 more to specify a faster CPU or more memory in them, they can sacrifice other areas such as materials in areas you don't see while making the screen you touch every day seem very quick.

To compare the price of a fully loaded spec EV9, vs a base spec iX is not good. The iX to have range/performance needs to be an iX50, then it will want some options, and quickly reaches £100k. Whilst still having a small boot, and only 5 seats.

We are living in strange times, as an average earner I can't afford a Kia, I know that is not just Kia but I think a lot of car manufacturers going bust in the next 5 years with this trend

Battery replacement cost $55, 000 so buyer beware

Finally a really large SUV EV. There's been such a scarcity. Large, heavy, shaped like a shed, fat wheels. Perfect for EV.

You didn't review the 3rd as you should 😑

With that size and design it's looking like it could've had a V6 and been a Telluride. But it seems car manufacturers kept all the good designs for EVs. 😔

The build quality looks awful...Who in their right mind would be £65k for a Kia? Or anyone Korean car for that matter!

It looks far better than the ugly iX and, it's not a dreary Audi either.
I'm not in the market for a big SUV anyway but, the German brands especially are safe and dull designs. More to do with badge snobbery. The Kia wasn't designed to be ' hustled ' down twisty roads. Surprised didn't take it on a track. It's remit is a large family 7 seater.

A good and sensible review. It seems as though this is one step too far.
Last year i got a new Genesis Electrified G80, with Genesis being the premium luxury arm of Hyundai/Kia. The Electrified G80 is a large five metre long saloon who's primary rival would be the Mercedes EQE or the new BMW i5. For some perspective prior to the Genesis I had for seven years a Maserati Ghibli, and before that I had some six new Jaguar's over a twenty year period. When asked what I think of the Genesis, I say this is the best car I've owned! Unlike this new Kia it looks and feels every inch the luxury car, with the cabin, and the car itself looking and feeling more like a Bentley, and often being confused for one! Whilst at around 80k for the almost fully optioned model I have, so a little more than this EV9, you are left in no doubt that you have got more than your money's worth. Interestingly the smaller Genesis GV60 is based on the Kia EV6/Hyundai Ioniq, but thanks to a complete redesign by Genesis is transformed also into a real luxury car. Add in the five year concierge package for free servicing, and a sales strategy which sees Genesis being sold as a completely separate stand alone marque, it is clear Genesis is clear that this a serious brand in the premium sector.
Whilst Genesis do make a large SUV (GV80) its petrol and I think diesel only, so as with the GV60 if their desiners got their hands on the EV9 platform, they could have a serious rival in the EV luxury SUV sector.
As things stand it would appear the EV9 is a bridge too far!

Looks big and frumpy. As do the Audis, BMWs and Range Rovers.

Its a very good car but not at a competitive pricing level. A regretful pass for me.

Too expensive! The costs outweigh the benefits

This thing will depreciate faster than a Range Rover with a pink paint job
