I've been testing the Kia EV9 as my main vehicle for the past two weeks. I've taken it on a 700km road trip, went grocery shopping with it, drove it back and forth to work, and now I'm ready to tell you what I think about it.

Disclaimer: Kia provided this vehicle for testing, but no monetary compensation was given. My thoughts are my own.

Thanks for the review. I've been eyeing the EV9 since it was announced. I agree with everything you said after driving one. It's the most comfortable, quiet car I have ever driven. The last car to take that crown was the Telluride I daily drive currently. Once pricing comes down to earth and it's released with NACS, I'll be first in line at my dealer. It's seriously $10k+ USD more in the US compared to Canada after exchange rate and all incentives! If pricing was in line, I'm not sure I could stop myself from getting it now. It's such a nice car.

I test drove one yesterday, and I'm in love!! I appreciate the clear information you give. It helps me to choose the trim I want. Great video!

Really thorough yet concise review of this... good job. You're the first reviewer that pointed out the door handle glitch and also the capacitive touch buttons on the dashboard being a little plasticky.

Just upgraded from a new model Lincoln Navigator to the ‘25 EV9 GT-Line and we are loving it. crazy that a Kia is an upgrade over a Lincoln but here we are. First ever EV and first ever Kia. Just installed the ChargePoint flex and a 50A breaker and it charges so fast.

Just test drove this today, here in Oregon and I was very impressed. I already knew I liked the styling and I’ve seen in out in the wild, but I was surprised at how much I liked the interior. For me the Wind is the best trim, has almost everything I want for a lot less than the Land or GT- Line. I prefer the bench seat with manual controls over the electric controlled Captains chairs in the second row. I also much prefer the matte black on the wheel wells over the gloss black. It’s very fun and comfortable to drive and didn’t feel too big. The Blazer EV felt kind of boat like to me, but the EV 9 was fine.

The Light Long Range is where it's at, pending you're ok with RWD. Loses a lot of features from the higher trim but it's so much cheaper with the similar manufacturer rebates. All reviewers show the GTL, but that's cause that's the one Kia wants to push (ie given in demos). I mostly miss the Window shades and memory seats, but the ADAS, vented front row seats, size, range, wireless AA/CP are all standard. The slowest models acceleration is actually plenty good, even coming from a 2018 MX; it's not EV-quick, but it's plenty good family hauler quick.

A couple of notes that may help influence some people:
1: the front lights are only available on the GLOSSY paints for the EV9
2: The 2nd row seat power features and leg rest, as well as power folding and moving 2nd and 3rd row are only available with the COMFORT package. it is not a standard feature. My 2nd and 3rd row are manual adjustment, which is much faster to use.

If BMW or Mercedes came out with this quality of vehicle at this price point, people would be losing their minds. It's Kia, so everyone has to check themselves that Kia came out with an excellent piece of engineering. This is the best in its class on the market. Once the Lucid 7 seater comes out, I'll be #2.

Took one for a test drive - love it, but would choose one level down from GT as there's some unnecessary extras edu just driver the price higher. The Canadian pricing is SOOO much better than the US pricing after conversion; we're getting a far better deal here north of the 49!

Also good to know that the maritime EV charging network needs work in case I ever get to that end of the country. 😎

This is a great vehicle in theory. In reality the electronics are half baked and unfortunately there is a bad batch of new 2025 EV9’s that are nonfunctional. Ours is currently sitting at the dealership for service. Of the 2 weeks we’ve had it, it only ran for 3 days. In addition Kia dealership service is very poor and Kia Canada customer service is terrible. Buyer beware.

Excellent and quick review! However, there are also disadvantages, for example, there is no configuration with laser headlights, no door closers, no camera washers like in my BMW IX, why they are not installed is unclear... There is also a very strange story with mode B. To turn it on, there is no separate button, you need to work the petals on the steering wheel...

Knock on wood but mine have worked perfectly and the only choice if you have 5 kids. The only bad thing so far is the safety systems that interfeer to much so I have to turn them of every time I go for a ride.

My 2025 EV9 would not switch into Drive, Neutral or Reverse at 988 kms (614 miles) it has been at the Dealership for over 3 weeks with Kia Canada trying to unbrick the car (similar to a lot of 2025 EV9 Canadian owners)

Not having a turnable dial to control the air and other features while driving is a hard no for me. Sucks cause it looks like a great vehicle.

looking at the prices, we are getting a huge discount here in canada, 78k USD is 106K CAD

Why are you giving range in KM and storage space in cubic feet 🤔
