I think the word I overuse the most (especially in speech) is the word "please". I always valued politeness, even from the time I was a little girl, always saying "please", "thank you", "you're welcome", etc (I even sometimes remind people to say please and thank you, even other adults). But that manifested into me making the word "please" a borderline filler word, or at least using it much more than necessary. I have autism and tend to latch onto things a bit too much. I know sometimes my speech sounds excessively formal but I don't intend it to, I talk what is for me casually. Anyone else overuse "politeness words"? For example, I may when asking for help picking out a dress to wear ask "Please, can you please help me decide what dress to wear, please?"
