Cirrus SR22 - Super Cross Country - 3000 Miles 20 hours - Day 1 BCT to PWK - Foreflight Arrivals

The first day of a very long cross country trip. This one was a usual flight I do between Boca and Chicago with a stop at Lawrenceville, GA.

See how we load new routes into the avionics and how to process an arrival procedure into busy airspace. Later on, I had to cancel IFR and go VFR on the last few minutes before landing at Chicago Executive Airport because of Chicago approach routing me all over the place.

Alright!--another long cross country. So jealous of all the flying you get to do for work. :-)

Great video Niko! Thanks for giving us a look at the Nav setup in the Cirrus. I have most of my time in a DA40 G1000. Nice to see other systems.

Looks like Irene is headed right for Boca. Keep the family and plane safe.

Nice video as always. Did you ever figure out why you couldn't load the PAALA ONE arrival in the IFD? I checked mine and saw it was there. Just curious.

Hey Niko, love this video. I have a question .. i'm looking to buy and SR22 but i'm afraid of the 'dated' avidyne avionics. What is your experience with this ? Is it true that there is no real upgrade path ? Because when I saw you going at 6:10 that looks like recent equipment ?

I have watched quite a few of your video's Niko and I have to say your flight instructor was like my very first driving instructor . I learnt to drive in the Military …..six weeks from none driver to HGV2 ( medium sized trucks ) …...ask me I think that was a bit to soon I think so but I didn't kill any one or crunch anything so I guess I did alright . How ever my first Driving Instructor was a old veteran grey haired guy, had an amazing moustache …….bit like an old Spitfire Pilot :-) . I must apologise as I don't remember his name I wish I did, how ever the reason I say this is, he said to me " to be a good driver you should drive a car so smooth It should feel like your running on rails like a train ", he said not just for you but your passengers . Well after seeing quite a few of your video's im guessing that some old grey haired moustached guy said to you way back when " flying a plane should be like flying on rails like a train " LOL . I know its a stretch but did my old RAF driving instructor move on to wheels with wings and pass his wisdom on ? ..lol I doubt it but I see your flights and landings and its smooth like on rails . Except when you get turbulence …….which in my case is big unavoidable pot holes in the road !! . Love your video's and thank you from an Un-trained pilot .

@Niko's Wings - can you please advise how long you've been flying your Cirrus SR22, and how long it took you to feel perfectly comfortable with it? TIA

Niko how many NM"s do you get on the SR22 with 1 hour reserve? Not basic calculations but actual distance on normal operations with decent weather etc..
