You're lucky to have so many historical landmarks in your backyard. We have some but it's not quite as old as these magnificent castles/ruins. I would be as excited as Dan.

Doris Day is my favorite actress ever, she is just amazing in all her movies, of which I have a lot of them.  How about a cooking section on the pork pies, Kay do you make cottage pie? Video's please if possible!Love the trips to different places, such gorgeous country side, and love when there are sheep in view too! Thanks for all you both do for making these video's they are top notch!

We, too, have the Griswolds next door! They have a massive display of the blow up decorations. Each year they add something else to their collection. During the day it looks like a holiday massacre!

Also Dan, I'm knitting an Antler toque because of you. It is so much fun to knit. This one is for me. Have you seen Weather the Weather hat? It's so much fun to knit too.

41:00 It makes me feel so good if you can't figure out how to say things as I have that feeling most of the time :) <3

This is happening to me as well, I pick up something to work on as a Christmas gift and then I think oh I should really work on this other project, pick that one up, and by the time I've gone through the cycle, I have yet to actually work on anything!

Loved this episode, thanks to all of you! Kay, I totally tense up when I have to navigate and read maps! We have traveled many a wrong road with my map reading.
Fondant Fibers minis, four of the five for sure we're sung by Doris Day, Not sure about the one in the middle though.

It is possible to knit trousers! My piano teacher back in the 80s wore them. It looked a bit whimsical though.

45:28 Once I had to check the word Balaclava and it is interesting from where this word came from - I think Dan you know that anyway :)

I LOVE maps and read them very well. My mother did too. She was always navigator for long trips, and I was when I was still married. I still am, but driving and reading maps don't go together. I have to read the map ahead of time. I'm actually starting to believe most MEN can't read them... ;) And I'm certainly not offended. :)

Great episode. I love the treasure hunt bits, and I totally want those pork pies!

Also, I'm in Canada and we always said "tewk" which rhymes with "nuke" and has the same "ew" as "newt". I grew up in Quebec with a mother from Toronto, Ontario, and a French Belgian father. And I say "skedule" for "schedule". Like saying "school".

Congrats on all your Christmas knitting! I have 18 people who I knit for as well and I started early this year so no speeding to the end for me. This year only tho. I like the rush to the end. I always have lists and spreadsheets to remember what everyone is getting. Have you seen the spreadsheet the YarnHarlot uses? She has a mess of family parties as well as a crazy amount of knitting to be done. I love her blog and she's an amazing knitter. Marry Christmas!

You guys are too funny! Love your podcast. No offense, but beg to differ- Neither my husband nor my adult son have any sense of direction and can't read maps. Myself and our girls are awesome at both. The biggest problem is my guys won't ask for directions, but they'll drive around and around and around until they stumble on it.
