I'm a purist. The and in "Two hundred and sixty-five" technically indicates the presence of a decimal point. I was always taught that 265 should be read as "Two hundred sixty-five".

I would like to clarify something... For those of you who always forget the "and" it's your lucky day! I have been speaking English my whole life ( it's my mother language ) and when you say "And" it signifies a decimal in the number. So instead of it being 200 and 65. it's 200 65. just say it like she said it but without the "and" tada! Now you can say numbers correctly :)
