Time restricted eating (TRE) is an emerging dietary intervention for weight loss that is hypothesized to reinforce the metabolic benefits of nightly fasting/ketosis. This pilot study investigated the effectiveness of a daily 14-h metabolic fast (TRE beginning after dinner, a “fasting snack” at hour 12, and ending with breakfast 14 h later) combined with a commercial weight management program on body weight and fasting blood glucose (FBG) in individuals with obesity. We also investigated the effect of the low-calorie, high-fat, low-carbohydrate, and low-protein “fasting snack” on blood glucose.

I have lost 60 pounds in 100 days, it has taken a combination of mental determination, proper diet, plenty of exercise, incorporate fasting. Everyone's challenges are different, I just got tired of being depressed and feeling unhealthy. Stay the course, very rewarding. Everyone has a story to tell. Keep motivating each other

Hang in there, don’t give up.

I have been fasting since March, I vary my fast 13, 16, 18, 20 hrs and 3, 5day water fast and 3day dry fast (I did brush and shower). At first it seemed nothing was working, then the clarity, energy, strength kicked in and I was motivated.

I started adding walks, I noticed I was shivering after my 30mins-1hr walk. I learnt it was because I was burning sugar. Overtime that stopped. I was able to add some exercises and now I’ve gone from looking 6months pregnant everyday to people saying you are now a skinny girl. When I say I went from a UK12-8, you’ll say oh but she wasn’t fat. No, I was. I’m a woman with B-cup and size 40inch waist suffering from hair loss, facial hair, fibromyalgia, PCOS, insomnia etc. the fibromyalgia symptoms are gone, my stomach is disappearing. I feel my liver is being regenerated. I have energy to carry out my daily tasks, I no longer spend my time watching videos of miserable people suffering from similar conditions on YouTube, it just drains you. It felt good knowing the symptoms I was complaining to my GP wasn’t in my head, but I knew I had to find a solution.
Insulin resistance is the root cause of many disease factors and fasting holds the key to it’s reversal. I am happy and grateful to Dr Jason Fung and Dr. Mindy for sharing their knowledge FoC. Especially when it comes to fasting for women, I now know why I struggle fasting before and during my period.

I am not following diet labels like keto, vegan etc, I eat a variety of healthy foods, but very low in processed carbs (bread, pasta, rice, biscuits, cakes). I don’t even crave them, I can shop in Lidl and not buy anything from the pastry section no matter the aromatic bombing attack.

You can do it too, just don’t give up.

Having a 1/2 an avocado with sea salt as my dinnertime back up plan has changed my whole experience of ADF. It has gotten me through so many 36 hours fasts when I wanted to quit and eat dinner 20-24 hours into my window. On those days when I'm struggling that 1/2 avocado totally hits the spot and gets me back on track until the next morning. Thanks for the tip Dr. Mindy!!

My goal is 4 days of water fast, but this time I'm on 73 hours and my hunger is really attacking me, so I ate avocado as my fasted snack. I'm trying to push through for 96 hours (4 days) until tomorrow. I can do this. 💪😊

I was so chuffed with my blood sugar levels this weekend. I wanted to see what the effect of nut butter would be as a fasted snack because I was really hungry and had a few more hours to go before breaking my fast. Tested before I had a spoon of nut butter and again an hour later. My blood sugar actually went down!! So happy!!

I've done Low Carb and Dasting for 4 years now. Lost 25 lbs, 9" off my waist 5" off my hips and gained 2" in my chest. I do OMAD now, never hungry. The anti-aging and health benefits are incredible. Healed my back problems, reversed my Ste 3 Chronic Kidney Didease and lowered my blood pressure. I am 66 and some people say I look in my 40's. Lol My skin is phenomenal better than in my 20's Thanks Dr. MINDY.

Like you said in another video, mix up your fasting schedule. So i have a tiny avocado when doing my normal 16:8 at hour 16, then I'm able to fast 2 more hours. So then it will be 18:6. You are so awesome and thanks for caring about all of us ❤ no ones getting hurt by eating right!

Electrolytes absolutely save my life. I have them twice a day for headaches. Even though I've been fasting for years (everything from 18 -72 hrs) I'm still really metabolically resistant and struggle switching to fat stores. Electrolytes and 90%+ fat snacks make fasting a sustainable lifestyle that I know is healing my body 🙏

Handful of greens, olive oil, and a little Himalayan salt or sea salt also works as a salad snack for extending fasting.

I’ve watched several videos now and ordered your book. So much great info. Good to know about the snacks. I could have used one, last night! So hopefully l will be in that 2% (Tom) who stick to it. I mentally get it now👍

I so appreciate the common sense that you have in approaching fasting! I'm a recovering perfectionist and I can tell you that one of the big turn off factors in this field for me are the purists out there who treat fasting like a competition and comparison ego trip. Thank you. I'm 72, and really appreciate the sheer kindness and humanity you convey. I'm subscribed.

Ive bever been able to fast correctly until I found your channel and your book! I am now moving into a healthier state of mind (clarity increases continuously) the joint pain and swelling/inflammation is reducing daily too! I take my mind of "weight/fat loss" and I focus on how I FEEL! I know the fat will drop as I commit to the processes and the processes are making such radical shifts with my body. I had the WORST periods for the last several years and as I hit 50, I had nearly no periods but all the efects of pms + Last week I finally had a period and there were no symptoms! No crippling headaches, back pain, swelling and feelings of despair and I know its bc of listening to your book and following you religiously on youtube! THANK YOU SO MUCH for all that you do

I had a teaspoon of 100% peanut butter on my 36-hour fast, it helped finish the fast. I always feel like I’m breaking the fast when I do that though but measured my blood glucose before/after once and it was actually lower after eating it!

Fasting is such a relief! I’m on OMAD. In this economy with prices skyrocketing I have saved so much money not eating until dinner. Now if my boys could get on this bandwagon we’d be golden! it’s difficult to get someone to start when they just don’t understand and don’t care to really learn. I’m trying to be a good influence though 😊🙏 Thank you Dr. Mindy for all of your advice!

I've been in "fasting training" for about 3 months.I've felt the benefits, but after an initial 4 pound weight loss, I hit a plateau. I would like to lose about 30. I've started protein cycling, and wow do I feel the difference. Thank you Dr. Mindy for promising that this would work! I do 18 hours fasts most cycles.
