Happy Thanksgiving!! This year Eric's is cooking his turkey spatchcock style. For a Spatchcock Turkey, you remove the backbone and flatten the turkey out so it will cook evenly. Turkey is then oiled and seasoned with BBQ rub and cooked on the Weber grill. It turns out moist and juicy! It will be one of the best Thanksgiving turkeys that you have ever cooked! Amy Learns to Cook is all about learning to make simple, tasty food from fresh ingredients. One year ago, I made a commitment to stop eating processed convenience foods. I decided to learn to cook "real" food. Join me! Let's learn to cook together!

Hi Eric I have never spatchcock a turkey because I haven't really cook the turkey from scratch. But I always spatchcock chicken because it always cooks to the section and it's so easy to do. Thank you for sharing this video your turkey looks awesome. And thanks for the tips on when to know the turkey is done and to not dry it out.

I've never seen a turkey cooked like that but that looks really easy and tasty. I will definitely be trying this out sometime. I've never brined a turkey I will have to try that too :)

Damn, that would look nice in a salad roll, with plenty of salad cream :)

Great method! Looks umm ... looks eerrr ... I'M HUNGRY! :D
I'd use a serrated knife to cut the spine out. I haven't tried on turkey yet but on chicken it's way faster and safer with a serrated knife sawing your way through.
