I want to be softer but it seems we can't, for example, and no disrespect to the LGBTQ family and I want to be inclusive but the "forced" dynamic amongst cis woman as if trans women are the same is a mental health issue within itself. I would like to have these conversations with cis woman only sometimes, the ones that have bleed from their bodies every month, had babies, suffered from hormonal changes AND are black. The life experiences are a completely different dynamic physically from the Trans community and dealing with these comparisons can sometimes be a mental health issue within itself, accepting the comparisons as if trans black and cis black are equal when they are not simply due to the fact physical differences create different experiences. THAT dynamic has an effect on cis mental health a lot, having to socially accept the trans dynamic as equal to our bodies - and even mental health - when it is not

The man on the panel invalidated this entire discussion. SMH. Can real black women have a space solely for themselves? Damn.

I love the talk on Black women, but a Black trans woman is completely different than a Black woman. You don’t have cramps, you don’t have to bare childbearth or hormones. They need their own catergor- you aren’t a woman. But I must say, y’all need a Category of a trans woman!

This makes me so upset for myself especially the part where you're asked about who takes care of you. I'm always taking care if others looking after their best interests letting others benefit from my happiness, success, hard work, tact, willingness to get things done no matter the lack, striving for perfection, and unending support. I'm tired of giving all of me to others because that's who I have convinced myself I am for so long and now I'm walking into a new chapter of my life that is starting because of me attempting to take my own life and waiting for treatment while sitting in limbo at a hospital not equipped to give me proper care for depression. And who is taking care of me now....still no one.
Enough is enough.

So true that we are disrespected all the time and I was dealing with so much issues from men, career, and racial issues that I dealt with personally, I rather work on myself and keep the faith! 🙏🏾😊

I'm a strong black woman, I just get tired of being expected to be strong all the time.
I've been #selfless all my life, always trying to help others, always abandoning myself and my feelings to please others, at 64.5 I'm really curious to know if being #selfish is OK, because I'm seriously considering it.

I will say, I love our Queen from Nap Ministry and everything she represents. Every word she spoke from the beginning was truth. Thank you.

I have a supervisor who is the only black woman in leadership, a Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer who slandered and assassinated my character when she realized I had a mental health diagnosis. She knew that I was divorced and used her connections to dig in to my background all because I lost 80 pounds and she blatantly TOLD me it was because she was jealous. My diagnosis came from an abusive marriage.

Mental health will remain a huge issue for black women because many of us do not focus on positive behavior and authenticity as being strength. Cognitive distortions run rampant in this community as well as poor work life balance. We need to focus on solutions ....black women for the most part are still analyzing the problems.

Dog on a Nail... A man walks into an old general store. As he moves through the aisles, he notices a dog lying beside the checkout counter where the owner is sitting. The dog is whimpering and whining when he walks in, and again he notices him doing the same thing when he approaches the owner to check out. He asks the owner, “Your dog seems to be in pain. What’s the problem?”

The owner responds, “Oh, that’s just old Rover. That’s where he lays and naps every day. He’s whimpering and whining because over time a nail has worn through the floorboard, and it hurts him.”

“Why doesn’t he just move?” says the visitor.

The owner replies, “Well, I guess it just doesn’t hurt him enough to move.”

Convert the strong black woman cliche to proactive emotional healing strength starting with identifying good black men to speak properly to and partner with !
