AIADMK, Tamil Nadu’s principal opposition party, has posted one of its worst electoral performances in the just concluded Lok Sabha polls.
Continuing to receive electoral setbacks ever since its supremo J Jayalaithaa passed away in 2016, the party drew a blank this year, losing all the 34 Lok Sabha seats it contested, including Theni that it had won in 2019. Its candidates finished a poor third in 11 constituencies, while in 7 seats, the party lost its deposit.
