Everyone in 2010: “YOO THE IPAD IS SO COOL ITS LIKE A BIGGER VERSION OF THE IPHONE”
Everyone in 2023: “IPad? You mean the E-pacifier”

It started as a joke, but truth is, we do need an internet abstinence movement.

As someone who works in a repair shop 95% of iPads I fix are from kids, and they are always filthy

Every kid needs the ability to go to a park, pick up a stick, and pretend they're hunting mammoths. It should be considered negligence to give your child an Ipad and ignore them.

We got the family iPad in 2012 when I was 4. It had simple games that were educational and not addictive, and my parents set times that we were allowed to be on it, which was only about an hour per day. Looking back I'm glad we had the iPad because now that I'm 15, I feel like I know how to spend my time wisely and limit my own screen time. Great video btw

There's something sick and disgusting about parents who expose their children to the internet for their screen points. Makes me wonder how the kids will feel when they grow up and dig this stuff up.

There is no way that spending your entire day 3 inches from a screen is conducive to you being normal later in life

Every child is considered neglected if they haven’t successfully hunted down a mammoth by the age of 8.

That kid not knowing what an iPad is was extremely refreshing after watching the abusive psychopath parents film their kids crying because their dopamine receptors have been totally fried, thank you for ending with that

Reminds me of my cousins, the poor 6 year old cried because they were talking about not taking a detour across half the country to get her a smartphone

Filing this in the "The Industrial Revolution has been a disaster for the human race" playlist.

Poor kids are getting fried dopamine receptors when they’re still in the tutorial

My kids don't get my phone unless it's for a long trip. My kids won't have their own phones until high school.
It's a treat, seldom used to keep it that way. It's so easy to sit with a child and play together with their toys.

As an iPad kid pioneer I can say the side affects are

Your kid becomes chronically online or they become the average weird kid

My younger brother is severely autistic, my parents bought him an iPad and he's been glued to it since infancy. He bashes his head when it is taken away. It's affecting his already worsening development. It's not just the younger kids either, in high school I've noticed that behaviour among S1 to S3 has became terrible. It's a combination between lifelong iPad/phone addiction and the COVID lockdowns. They set things on fire, get into fights for no reason, scream at random people and break into exam halls. In ASDAs I saw a group of kids beat up some gran and steal a bottle of Prime in her hand. Some are barely even literate and can't write. We were annoying as kids but never like this. They have 0 social or life skills and can't do basic maths or English. It's not just me who's saying it, staff all around the school has noticed it too. Escapism is not a substitute for reality. Gen Z is beyond repair.

Coming from someone who grew up with only 1 friend, and was inside for all of my childhood, this is no way to raise a child. I learned things late in life. Never climbed a tree, have lackluster social skills, I played with my DS more than my family, and never played a sport. Worst part? I was born in 1999. Technology is not a babysitter. Granted, my parents were more concerned with me being abducted so I was mostly kept inside, but these are essential skills that need to be learned.

I wait tables at a family themed bbq retaurant and the amount of iPad kids I see makes me so sad because they all have the same look about them, and it's the same with their parents.
