I added a thick brass block to a Floyd rose guitar I owned once and got similar results to what you have here. Mine wasn’t marketed as an improvement in sustain per se, and more of a “bell like” quality. It certainly had a increase in the high end that I actually really enjoyed.

Most things I hear marketed as an improvement in sustain usually scream “snake oil” to me, but that brightness from an aftermarket block isn’t a joke.
