I have made butter using a 1 quart Ball jar. Fill with cream, and roll back and forth. Pour off the remaining liquid. Voilà, butter. Every can opener I have is manual, including a P-38. I need to work on getting some of the rest of this stuff.

Swing away can openers are good if you can find the swing away that mounts to a cabinet they are the best. I have the cast iron skillets i got for gifts when we got married in 1972. I found a nice lodge cast iron comal for 5.00 at a church rummage sale. I also received a fabulous gift of a scraub cassoulet that is the smoothest cast iron i have ever seen.

I have a dough crank that I also use for roasting coffee beans and stove top popcorn cooker. Like several here I have most of the WONDERFUL items you have listed ... I think being older and not always "needing" the newest, shiniest gadget has helped me hang on to the things you've mentioned 😊. Wonderful List ... so many often overlooked necessities ❤❤

I have a butter churn that is over 100 years old, it is a paddle churn and big, still works, I also have a grain mill that is cast iron, over 100 years old, and still works. Pretty much all the items you mentioned. My percolator coffee pot for the house is a vintage Pyrex glass one, it’s pretty. Found it at a thrift store for 6$. I love the old stuff, guess it’s cause I’m old😂

Its called a butter churn and i have a glass jar with a crank paddle and a manual dash plugger churn too.
A great cast iron spider is great to toast bread and make tortillas warm.
Good list.

Don't forget the cast iron hook or a strong hook to be able to remove cast iron lid, I would also look for a trivet or something to put those pots on near fire to keep food hot.Try to find an old fashioned can opener, the older one's stainless new one's aluminum or cheap metal that is why they break so easy.oh don't forget a crank blender, I have my grandmothers.

I got a farberware hand can opener from Walmart and it broke with a few months of light use. I'm going to look for something more sturdy.
That zeer pot is interesting. I bought a clay water jug for keeping water cool that works on a similar principle but the water leaches through it's pores too fast so it leaves a puddle on the counter top. Maybe I could set it in a pot of sand or something. I just thought it would be nice to have some cool water to drink in the heat if the power is out.
