I think alot of people that say that colour correcting is pointless are those who are already satisfied with their concealer or can find a concealer that works for them. There are people with serious dullness, dark eye circles and red in the skin that colour correcting really does help with. If you have the darkest eye circles finding a concealer that covers without being cakey is hard therefore using a colour correcting means for less concealer, the same with those with conditions like rosacea. I say don't knock it till you genuinely have a need.

not to come across "mean" because i love your videos but i want to clarify color correcting better because this video doesnt actually say what they are used for and such. Im a professional makeup artist, went to school for makeup and i know ALOT about makeup. but i just want the correct information to be out there for people who dont know how to. PEACH color corrector is ONLY used for BLUE under eyes. peach will not correct a violet under eye or red. a YELLOW color corrector is for VIOLET! key is to determine what you under eye color is. some people have some pink under eye which you would apply a mint color to. green you would apply pink. if you have redness to the face most of the time its actually pink, green does not correct pink: you would need a minty green. the NYX is a very minty green and thats the one i use! in some cases you might have a red then you would use green. if you have hyper pigmentation or yellow or orange you would use the complimentary color. but putting a peach under the eye as its self will not help because most of the time its a mix or violet and blue. also you would never just apply the corrector color directly to the skin; ALWAYS temper it with your foundation so its not so strong and easier to hide. just wanted to put out my pro tips for your views!(:

Also remember that Tati has really nice skin already. Some people have very dark spots or blemishes that actually may require color correction if you aren't using a super highly pigmented foundation.

I bought the peach colour in the Smashbox stick, and it has CHANGED MY LIFE! I have a medium skin tone with a lot of hyperpigmentation on my cheeks, and this stuff basically zaps it away! I apply a really thin layer of foundation, spot correct with the peach stick, powder, and apply a setting spray. It has changed my makeup game and I've been getting so many compliments from people, telling me how fresh and awake I look!


It doesn't have to be a cakey process. If you use the right face products you won't look cakey. I also think deeper skin tones will love the Smashbox sticks!

I agree with most of what you said in this video, however, green concealer for acne is really wonderful. I apply a tiny bit on any really red spots, barely blend at all, and apply a thick concealer directly on top. It absolutely makes a difference and makes the spot less noticeable. I have been dissatisfied with my foundation/concealer for years now and color correcting has changed that for me!

Color -correcting for WOC, especially Black women helps alot. The right formula can cancel darkness, hyper-pigmentation, dullness etc.. with something orange/peach/salmon. Plus, you'll use less foundation and sometimes concealer, depending on where your problem areas are. MAC's Prep & Prime in Peach Lustre is my HG!!

Thank you Tati. I recently purchased a color corrector palette and was going to ask for a tutorial and then you posted this video. Serendipity.. I picked up the Makeup Revolution palette at Ulta with 6 shades and it is beautiful. They are slightly pearlized and super creamy, sheer and blendable. They float on the skin and do not sink in the pores as long as you prime first. I use the Guerlain gold, and sometimes mix it with the Becca backlight. The green is very soft and completely cancels all the red around the sides of my nose and chin. The yellow cancels the red on my eyelids. The violet just gives me a beautiful glow and I mix the white and the pale pink as highlight on the tip and the bridge of the nose. The two salmon/ flesh tone shades are to sheer for any real under eye help but I am older and have very dark shadows. I highly recommend the palette since it will not cake or interfere with other makeup. It is also very affordable. Thanks for all you do. You are my fave blogger.

I have always been really skeptical about green concealer. When i had really bad acne I always thought that it was a very unnecessary step that didn't do anything, and didn't exactly "correct" any redness, so there was no need for me to use an additional product on my acne prone skin. Later i found out that the problem was that most brands make bright green concealer (like NYX or Maybelline) when there is no need for it to be so bright, i found out that using a not so bright green concealer, like a yellowish brownish green is SUPER effective, is insane. If you struggle with redness of any kind try Graftobian Muted Green concealer or Flower Cosmetics Concealer kit (the one that has a green in it). Even if your super pale like me it works amazingly. Like Tati always says it will really improve your makeup game! hahaha (i'm sorry for my english)

For any Canadians watching, Quo (the house make-up brand sold at Shopper Drug Mart), has a great cream colour correcting palette with green, yellow, purple and peach colour. I got mine years ago, and it amazing and has a smooth texture.

That purple one is great for people with mostly cool-tone skin but maybe has some yellow, sallow patches. Makes your skin look totally even.

I colour correct whenever I need my face to be flawless. Green and orange save my life when it comes to my dark circles and super red cheeks (hello Irish/Scottish heritage). Fabulous video as ever <3

I wish they would release a kit with smaller sizes, that way I could buy the whole Urban Decay set without breaking the bank. Maybelline might release their Fit Me concealers in color correcting shades so I'm really looking forward to that.
