In these days came the breakthrough. I was fluent enough to play myself free chromatically via play-alongs and since I progressed very fast. It was hard to gain that first foothold, because violin is really-really tricky, so my experience as jazz improviser hardly helped me until August. From now on it's gonna be easy. My violin will go the same way, my trumpet, recorder etc. went before and it's a sure thing. I think it's worth learning chords and then improvising. This makes a musician totally free. Who can manage jazz, can manage any other kind of western music as well. Technically more difficult is my goal to play improvised baroque music. I can do it, but am not fast enough yet to do it convincingly. I will gain that speed in jazz, because here I have many approved tools to push my technique. My trumpet can tell--it takes a little time....

Hi I was wondering if you can do some songs in calico tuneing on the fiddle. it is a good tuneing for celtic and bluegrass pieces. standard tuneing will not work because of the rapid fire fire fingering. and the double stops would be too far a part to reach, I know because I tried. there are some heart warming songs in Irish folk and bluegrass and I would love to learn some. pretty please with ice cream on top. as always miss allison u r the best!!! tyvm have a beautiful musical week

yes I understand completely it would be like asking the conductor to drive the train while the engineer collected the tickets. makes sense.
